Power of prayer....again.

So let's see:

Girl gets bitten.
We don't know if she has rabies, but she develops a couple of rabies-like symptoms.
She has a cocktail of anti-viral agents pumped into her.
She recovers.

And it must be because of the prayers?

I think I ate a cheeseburger that day - Maybe it was thanks to me somehow?

If I were the doctors I'd be really ticked off. All their hard work was for nothing. It was obviously the family and friends who actually saved her with prayer.

And presumably no-one with rabies symptoms has ever been prayed for before? Or were they preyed for but God didn't fancy saving them?

How is this a news story?

Now, I'd just like to know, exactly how many people praying was the tipping point for God? The father says they got everyone they know involved, and it "snowballed" -- so, what's the magic number? I'd hate to think that God is letting all these other people die every day, but would change his mind if he got just one more prayer --- mine perhaps? I feel guilty already.

I think because she's the first known unvaccinated human being to contract rabies, and then recover from it... it's actually pretty big news, IMO.

Screw the prayer stuff, they'd better start looking into the 4 antiviral agents that were administered and see which one(s) did it.

I meant more specifically the prayer side of this.

The recovery itself is certainly remarkable. But there have been many cases of rabies before. What is different about this one? A new form of treatment.

So why are people getting all insane about the prayers? Why do they think that is connected?

Girl gets virus, girl gets treated with antiviral agents, girl gets better.

Hallelujah! The Miracle of the Bleedin' Obvious!

I wish to resign from the human race in protest.[/complete derail]

Sheesh, now I feel like crap, too. Who knew there was some sort of critical prayer mass?
