Furthermore: the letter isn't even addressed to the administration. It is addressed to the houses of Congress.

So POTUS Obama should ignore Lamb's request because its addressed to the Congress? His name is mentioned in the letter. Isn't that sufficient?

Secondly, I thought there hasn't been a decision on whether they were even going to go to committee? Thirdly, complete transparency is unachievable. There will always be dealings behind closed doors.

C-SPAN cameras have been in the House since 1979 and in the Senate since 1986. Are you saying that Pelosi and Reid never noticed them all this time? Why would pols act any more clownish during health care reconciliation than they usualy do in front of C-SPAN cameras.

ETA: By the way there have been tens (if not hundreds) of hours of congressional debate on these healthcare bills on CNN already. After the bills are merged, I suspect there will be more before we get a cloture vote.
