Okay, how do I post a picture
a) if it's on my hard drive
b) On this site if it's on another site.
c) On another site if it's on thi8s one?

I can't figure it out. I am an idiot.

If it's on another site past the ulr and add img tags. If it's on your hard drive make sure it is below 25400 and click on the button I've circuled.

Or, if you have that image on the web (note policies on copyrights...), use the img, /img around a link to the picture.

Many websites, including this one, block the hot-linking of images from their domains. Copyright issues aside, you'll have to copy the images and host them yourself (using tags to post them) or, if under 25400 bytes, attach the image to your post.

Using [img] tags is more flexible in that you can post as many as 10 images (including smilies) in any given post with text between them if you wish. Like this:

[img]http://www.acronet.net/~skepticjeff/Photos/BudBud.jpg


With the attachment method, you are limited to a single image that will only appear below the text of your post. Like so:

This one never used to do that. Let's try a simple test:

Seems to work for me here. I suppose you mean we can't hot-link to a randi.org image from another site. I admit I have never tried doing that.

If you're using the 'attach' method, outlined by geni, it seems to work best if you DON'T try to preview the post, before posting it.

You can't use vb img tags to hyperlink to a post that is attached to a post. There is a way of doing it throgh HTML but I can't remeber it off the top of my head.

Okay, I posted something. How do I post a picture from somewhere else on this forum in such a way that I could post two or three others if I chose? Even though I posted that picture on the above thread, I still can't link to the image to post it somewhere else, not to mention link to the place it originally came from.

I'm such a novice, I guess.
