Pornography and Rape

Getting back to the subject of porn and rape, I think, (I have to look it up again), that rape went down after porn hit the internet, not VCRs. The reason being that porn on the internet is a lot more specific. We have specific fantasies and websites that deal with only that fantasy and nothing else. Even in mainstream porn, such as Wicked, Vivid, etc, the sex is just "general" sex, and once in a while, maybe a movie has a scene that touches on a particular fantasy, but doesn't explore it fully. Now we in a time where anyone, literally, can create a website for any particular fantasy. I have, myself, simply because I didn't see anyone producing porn that had my particular fantasy with it.

I think that's more the reason than just "porn exists". I think nowadays, people can see their fantasies, even very taboo ones, done legally and with no one getting hurt.

Sadly, it isn't a guarantee. Even chemical castration, which from what I've heard destroys the sex drive, won't stop some repeat rapists. They use an object instead. Of course, these are serial rapists we're talking about, not your run of the mill date rapist.

Legal issue is somewhat questionable as it depends on how obsenity laws are enforced.

Just out of curiosity: did turn out that there was a market for a website with your specific tastes? Or did you have to conclude that you are a rare specimen when it comes to erotic preferences?:D

Good point. I should've said "for the most part legally" or "depicted an illegal situtation without, in reality breaking any laws or hurting someone".

A little of both. The other thing I have observed (and this is merely my observation, nothing scientific), is that if one type of fantasy is specified on a web site, someone, somewhere, sometime, will think of it and go searching. I think the that web has more people willing to do more exploring of their sexual side, because they can get information on it and maybe explore it safely from behind a computer screen.
