I don't see how the host could think he was being fair. I mean, Ron and Mark both got away from building 7 so fast. That should tell you something.

Pot, Kettle, Black. Didn't you see how the question was about WTC 1 & 2 and then Avery/Bermas changed the topic quickly to building 7? The only reason why Ron/Roberts wanted to get off the topic of building 7 was in order to keep on topic.

Honestly why would you think Roberts would be particularily worried about talking over building 7? Do you really think it's his weak point or something? He has produced a 134 page document specifically dealing with building 7.

You're right Gravy, but I think you were such on a roll with the WTC collapse initiation that going back to this nonsense stopped the momentum at that point.

Mwahahah... That´s what you think... :D
ETA: And please don´t ban the whole board again...
Thanks for taking one for the team, Oliver. You can't possibly have more room on your clothes for "banned" badges, can you? :D

Yea I have to agree, you guys were really hammering them on that, making them switch the topic to building 7 or try to use the claims of one poor structural engineer (forget the guys name but I've seen the video) who just had the video shoved in his face (that you easily debunked). Would have been good to keep going along that line.

Well, since i started to wear long girl-dresses... :D Oops, wrong subforum... :boxedin:

Yes doesn't Bermas admit that the damage and fire could have caused the collapse and the only issue he has is with the subsequent global collapse...

He admits that the bending occured, just he expected the entire top of the building to sort of fall off the rest, instead of buckling the rest and essentially falling in on its self. He gets REALLY close to admitting the collapse occured exactly as NIST explains it lol

In fact, I would argue that given what he has accepted did occur, it is then simply a matter of proving the physics that follow from such an event.

Thanks much, Oliver, oh Creator Of The Post Of The Year!

So: A different dynamic than the first segment, unquestionably. This half was almost completely Mark versus Jason. Which was perfectly fine, because Mark wore the mantle of Instructor exceedingly well once again. Facts and figures cascaded from Mount Roberts like a pyroclastic flow - obliterating all manner of nonsense found lying, helplessly prostrate, in the inexorable and unswerving certitude of its path. (God I need some cognac after that sentence).

By both Bermas and Avery doggedly clinging to the salt pillars of Controlled Demolition on their quest for truth - they have ensured the unattainability of that lofty ideal.

Mark, you were splendid once again. Ron, you set the perfect tone for a revealing confrontation and kept everything civil with your low key professionalism and projection of decency and mutual respect. Cheers, gentlemen!

As I watch it again, it's true that it is Bermas who changed the subject. He was hoplessly clueless:

Perfect case of moving the goalposts.

It's particularly funny when he's faced with the fact that every structural engeneer on the planet disagree with him (Bermas) and he says: " Yeah, government engeneers..."

:boggled:

NC *16 §9.3.3 ?!?! good god gravy, can you just immediatley cite any section of the NIST report, you are complete insanity

methinks they had no idea what they were getting into and it shows, notice how bermas makes a nervous chuckle when you cite it like its common knowledge.
i knew if they debated you they would be sorry and it feels so good to see avery squirm like a little child

bravo indeed. your expertise is what drew me to these boards and its what keeps me coming back. id just like to thank you personally for making the extraordinary sacrifices to attain all of this knowledge and to really dig deep into a horrible tragedy that most people would rather just forget. (that goes for all of the resident experts on this board)

i think the general apathy of the public to not pay too much attention is prevalent because no one wants to think about the horror of the day and the CTers feed off that. if i had to look at those images every day, no matter how scientifically detached i would be i would go crazy so thank you for putting that burden on your shoulders.

No one asked you to do any of this and you sure dont make much money doing it. so hopefully the gratitude of us all is enough. keep on the facts and they will have no room to fill peoples heads with lies.

then hopefully people can go to the world trade center site and not have to deal with any of these wackos all thanks to you

bravo

ps. i heard you are a tour guide, what do you think about ground zero as a tourist site? just curious

Yeah, government engeneers...

lol yea, because they've had government contracts etc... Really, when an association with the government is all you need to convict someone of being 'in on it' almost all of us are in on it. I mean I'm just a university student over in Australia, I work in a private legal firm but you know what - My dad owns a small constuction company that does nothing but government contracts - So I MUST be in on the conspiracy... I mean afterall, Australia was a member of the coalition of the willing amirite? Just makes sense that their government would be a part of the NWO >:/

It'd be kinda fun to find a government connection to Dylan Avery / Jason Bermas etc to make them out to be a part of the NWO themselves lol

Bermas just in case you are reading this ... all the structural engineers in the world do not work for the US government, fact!

It's very simple really if it was such an obvious controlled demolition why are there not thousands of structural engineers and controlled demolition experts around the world up in arms about the collapse, would it have anything to do with the fact that it wasn't a controlled demolition?

:D

Good catch, Brainster!

Ron Wieck

Thanks Ron. If I ever get on Jeopardy! and there's a 9-11 category I should kick butt. (Provided of course you and Mark aren't on against me).

ETA: One thing that struck me during the first ten minutes of the second half is that Dylan starts nodding in agreement when Mark is speaking. Not sure if that continues.

CTists are eternal adolescents. They distrust anything of authority.

Yeah I agree, I know for a fact that if I'd watched LC in my early to mid teens I'd have believed every single word for the exact reason you mentioned.

By the way, is there an easy way to shrink an animated gif to avatar size? I like the fact that it looks like I'm signing "geggy is a chump" for the home audience.

Actually I thought you were just winding your seiko watch.

:D

I had a high school chemistry teacher who gave us a lecture one time on being a skeptic but not a cynic. I didn't quite appreciate the distinction until recently.
