Political Compass (survey)

Maybe the editor is British, or maybe the examples you are judging buy are from a British author, but some of those questions seem to be lifted off of a German writer from 1946. Theodor Adorno is also listed in the 'Related Reading' section at the politicalcompass website.

How one adjusts for that is anyone's guess.

If anyone is interested, I score 'Liberal Airhead' on the test from 1946.

didn't adorno take on US citizenship when he upped sticks to chicago? anyway, adorno's pretty much standard reading in social sciences over here, but i'm going off the "UK Political Compass" bit which uses (relatively) contemporary british mps as an example.

Is this thread pretty much done with? For the record:

Economic Left/Right: -4.25
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.90

Economic Left/Right: -1.25
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.10

I see Hammy was one of the few closer to the center (centre since it was a British test?) than me.

Economic Left/Right: 0.25
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.23

I dont know what it means, but my dot is in the middle, kinda above the bottom midline, in there... somewhere...

Dang, I ended up right around Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lahma. Hmmmm, I'm a little more liberal then I thought and and little more libretarian. Interesting.

Note to self: Do not take political qizzes while on cough medication.

Boo

Economic Left/Right: -2.12
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.28

I've taken this test several times. I've been further to the left and further to the right (economically) than this. I must be having a particularly wussy liberal day today.

Economic Left/Right: -4.25
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.69

Almost exactly the position of the Dalai Lama. Interesting...

Economic Left/Right: -7.12
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.18

I guess I leave the Dalai Lama to shame.

I'm always highly skeptical of these "polticial quizes" because they seem to herd people toward a particular ideology (see the Libertarian test). This one asked more then a few loaded questions.

Anyway:

Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -7.64

Almost one year later:

Economic Left/Right: -8.75
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.00

Couldn't take the test

The first question put me right off. As though the two were necessarily mutually exclusive. I will grant to the Libertarian test is not perfect either, but it doesn't paint you into a corner ie. "Are you pro-business or pro-human?" or "Do you think we should live in a socialist society where people treat each other nice and everybody has enough to eat or in a society where gigantic, powerful multinational corporations exploit the weak and polute our drinking water?"

I missed this thread, here are my scores:
Economic Left/Right: 3.12
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.31

The questions I did not understand I did not answer.

My Scores:

Economic Left/Right: -1.00
Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.49

They did not have a selection that said "I am a moron who relies on web personality tests for validation", or I might have picked that choice :D

Geez. I think it means you have a split personality. You should have it checked immediately.
