Political Atheism

I am ignorant of the Australian system in general, so no comment. :D

You're welcome, too!

I don't understand anarchism.

As far as I can tell, this is what anarchy looks like, after enough time. If you have no laws and no government, by what authority do you stop people from banding together for protection? And by what authority do you stop people from occupying territory and imposing their shared will on everyone in that territory? And by what authority do you stop people who can get away with it from taking money from those in that territory, and making rules about what you can and can't do in that territory, and punishing those who break those rules? And by what authority do you stop people from deciding how those rules are made, and who makes them? And by what authority do you stop people from delegating enforcement powers to certain individuals, and determining a method by which those people are chosen?

And if, under anarchy, you can't stop people from doing all of these things, if they can get away with it, then how are you going to complain about the US (or pretty much any other) government? We've taken anarchy, and we've run with it for a few million years, and this is where it's gotten us. If you don't like the type of government we have, or disagree with certain policy decisions, that's one thing.

You'll always be able to do what you can get away with, and everybody else will be able to do what they can get away with. Complaining that you'll be punished for not paying taxes seems to require a belief that somebody should prevent the tax collector from collecting taxes, or somebody should prevent the judge from trying you, or somebody should prevent the jailor from carrying out the judge's sentence. If you're an anarchist, what authority would you install to prevent these people from doing their thing?
