Planned Parenthood Aids Pimp's Underage Sex Ring

Planned Parenthood:

“We were profoundly shocked when we viewed the videotape,” Phyllis Kinsler, chief executive of the agency’s central New Jersey branch, said in a statement. Ms. Kinsler said the tape “depicted an employee of one of our health centers behaving in a repugnant manner that is inconsistent with our standards of care and is completely unacceptable.”

PR and CYA

The woman still did nothing wrong. Of course none of that PR and CYA would have even been necessary had these degenerates not tried to entrap them in their stupid con.

I'm wondering: What exactly does the action of one person at Planned Parenthood have to do with the qualifications and performance of the entire organization?

Good question.

And the answer, of course, is nothing. The thread title is a lie.

Title should probably be "Before Reporting Him, Employee of Planned Parenthood Slightly Bungles Response to Fake Pimp's Request For Information About Care For Underage Prostitutes".

But that just doesn't scream "YEAH! SHUT EM DOWN!" like the OP does.

Evidence that she helped brake the law, let alone used federal tax dollars to do it?
Break. ;) Don't think she slowed the law down. ;)

But if I am understanding the "she" in this conversation, didn't PP fire their employee for doing just that, breaking the law? Or was it "breaking PP rules" that got her fired?

Indeed, unless we ought to shut down the San Antonio Police Force if one cop beats a confession out of a perp.

I find it strange that this discussion has continued. Didn't PP remedy the fault within be sending the employee packing?

We are on page 10. Ground to dust seems to be current condition of the topic ...

People get jailed or fined for breaking the law. They get fired for breaking company policy, or appearing to break policy. I know this may come as a shock, but some companies even fire employees for PR reasons.

Agreed. Personally, I believe if PP wasn't under constant attack, they would not have fired the employee. They may have remedied the situation with another means. I don't blame them for doing so--I don't think they had a choice (so to speak).

The problem is that some of us don't think there was a "fault" at all, that the employee did exactly what she should have done and was fired purely for public relations purposes because Planned Parenthood is constantly under attack by nutbags.

Your quote backs up the position that a single employee performed in a less-than-admirable manner and PP (as an organization) responded appropriately throughout this situation. So thanks for agreeing with me for once.

This actually sets up an interesting catch-22.

Did Planned Parenthood do the right thing by firing the doctor? If so, then why pull their funding? For doing the right thing? That makes no sense.

If not, then why pull their funding? The doctor did not behave inappropriately, so this whole scandal has no basis. That makes no sense.

Because people remember the headline not the actual story. Liars who make up damning headlines know this.

Well, not exactly what she should have done. The fired worker appeared to be unaware that not all prostitutes are willing participants.

I think the employee should have been given some kind of training about that issue and not fired. Anyone who has been around prostitutes knows some of them are adults and independent teens that are doing what they choose to do. Yes, they have drug problems, and yes it's not the best life, but it is also not immoral.

I think that is where the PP employee was coming from.

Not everyone is aware of the sex slave aspect of prostitution. And I see nothing in the PP employee's behavior that suggested she was aware of that aspect of prostitution at the time the fake pimp was in the office. Perhaps it dawned on her after the incident.

If you are aware what should you do different? If your goal is to try and get help to the other girls in the sex ring you probably should act like you are not all that appalled at what is in front of you.

The employee was very chummy with the two people and I am going by that behavior to conclude the employee wasn't thinking about the potential for underage sex trade slaves from Mexico. So I don't think it was a conscious effort by the employee to get the people to bring the girls in.

I think I would have given more general less specific information and encouraged the girls be seen without all the discussion of the details. But I have the advantage of being that nurse practitioner the employee was referring to. I would have handled the two clients a bit more professionally. This is why I don't fault the employee for not being more professional. She was less trained and shouldn't be expected to be perfect. She should have been given training how to have better handled the couple.
