Phelps at it again!

Does anybody care about this clown? All he's doing seems to scream, "WILL SOMEONE PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!! I'M IMPORTANT!!!". Gays are just the excuse. If tomorrow everybody magically agrees with him about how evil gays are, he'll just starting screaming "GOD HATES JEWS" (or Blacks or whomever) so as to get attention.

I think the parents who are burying their child might care...

But I'm proud to be Swedish. Phelps has condemned us wholesale, even those of us who are very white and heterosexual, so we must be doing something right.

Seriously, a LOT of people care. When I ride with the PGR they always warn us when Fred & Co might show up so the more hot tempered can sit the mission out.
 
What? the father must have done something against the law aginast one of the protesters to be fined so high (assault?).

I always wish that the group would be arrested for inciting a riot. A riot against them.
 
This is how the Phelps clan makes money. Fred is a lawyer. He sees dollar signs when an indignant funeralgoer punches out one of his kids.
 
It never ceases to amaze me that with all the people shot dead per year in the US. No-one has managed to find a bullet with this guys name on it.

The petty :p in me would suggest the funeral or special occasion of the Phelps family be disrupted by 'fags' in pink and vets. Can you see it now? Pink-mobiles and camouflage vehicles side by side...perhaps picketing the Phelps church on Sunday...returning the favor.
 
It doesn't surprise me they awarded costs against the Snyder family when their case was rejected on appeal. But an article I read did say there was no specific timetable for payment to be made.
But had any money from the original judgment already been paid by Phelps? It doesn't sound like it.

Are there any lawyers here who can clarify when damages, costs etc, have to be paid out in a case like this?

I read the opinion [1] which dismissed the case. I found this most illuminating:

their [defendants Phelps et al] words "are clearly rhetorical, hypothetical, religious and laced with opinion" and that "it is impossible to prove or disprove these things, given that doctrinal viewpoints drive the opinions"

Was Fred actually there? I had heard that Fred himself hadn't been seen in quite a while and that there were rumors that he had, in fact, died.

I can see why the Phepls Phamily would want to keep it quiet. They can't take like they give. I think a Big Pink protest at his funeral would be (would have been) perfect.
