Wonderful news:

Shortly after finishing their protest at the funeral of Army Sgt. Jason James McCluskey of McAlester, a half-dozen protesters from Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., headed to their minivan, only to discover that its front and rear passenger-side tires had been slashed.

To make matters worse, as their minivan slowly hobbled away on two flat tires, with a McAlester police car following behind, the protesters were unable to find anyone in town who would repair their vehicle, according to police.

Watch - every single business that refused to fix the tires will be sued by the WBC... That's their usual M.O., isn't it?

Gives me a giggle to think about them hobbling along on two wheels.

I hope Fred Phelps dies soon. I'm sure his funeral will be well attended and I may have to pay a visit to Kansas.

I recommend Village People impersonators and maybe a large contingent of naked calypso dancers to mark the occasion.

I'll chip in.

One wonders how a parent could justify having their child participate in protests as they do, given that the propensity for violence might be high. At what point might bringing the children be considered child endangerment?

I had a good friend who was KIA in Iraq back in 2007. On top of everything his family and friends had to endure, we also had to contend with a threat from the Phelps family to show up and disrupt the funeral proceedings. I contacted the local chapter of a group called the Patriot Guard Riders, and they showed up fully prepared to block the Phelps via peacful, and legal means. The PGR's are really some great people, very low key, very professional. Fortunately, the Phelps scumbags never showed. They are a vile, disgusting bunch of people who deserve every bit of bad fortune that comes their way.

I've known for a long time I will have to answer a really big "call of nature" at Fred's grave. After tying him up and putting him in it. But before the dirt goes on.

One might hope the special order tires which were out of stock that week for the van might come in sometime later at $1000 a piece. :)

Darn! Not violence!:D:D:D

Violence is wrong as they often take small children oblivious to the true meaning of their filth.

While violence isn't appropriate, all doors are open to instructive sarcasm, wit, and directed sideways humor. Michael Moore opened a can of pink whip azz on Phelps with out landing a rock, a punch, a hand, or even a finger on the scum. He did it while trailing the Phelps gang with a rocking Pepto-Bismol pink motor home. Moore even ran them out of a couple of protests.

The violence Phelps spews is of a psychological nature, but it's still violence, and it's still evil and wrong. The best solution may come when Phelps himself is eulogized. The notion of the evil clan getting a load of bullflop dumped on them from their numerous victims would be nothing short of just.

Hell, I'd even drive the end dump. A high-side semi would be wonderful.

That town's made of Awesome!

Hell yes they are!

My non-encounter with these WBC people, and what they could have done, ignited a hatred in me like no other. I can only imagine how it could be for people who actually have had to deal with these worthless scumbags face to face. How sad it must be to live a life like theirs. I hate them for a reason. They hate everyone, for no good reason at all.

BTW, whilst I think inconveniencing the WBC in the above fashion is most amusing, I don't think physical violence against them would serve any purpose other than enable them to play the victim card.

Congratulations, Rolls. The WBC hatefest has created more hate on the other side. They win. You lose.

I hate them because as we were making the arrangements to bury my best friend whom I had known since Kindergarten, I had to deal with a credible phone call, and thus a threat from a known member of the WBC, stating that they would be attending the funeral services, and would be "protesting".

My friend's parents were shocked, and both of them cried terribly upon hearing this news, as if they hadn't cried enough already. My friend was killed in action in late 2007 in Iraq. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his actions on the day of his death. Among the people attending his funeral were his two sons of gradeschool age, and two of the men who he died saving.

I lose nothing from hating those who would disrupt a day honoring, and laying to rest, such a man.

ETA-Ah, I see that SezMe seems to be a troll with tenure. I also see that he/she/it dropped into this thread just out of the blue. Par for the course I suppose. Well, SezMe, you've made it onto the ignore list.

Actually, you do. Your negative "hatred in me like no other" interferes with what should be your focus on your friend and his positive contribution to the world.

Wow. I came in on the very day this thread got resurrected. And how would one make his/her first post in a thread without it coming "out of the blue"? Should I send you a PM warning next time?

And if my comment put me on your ignore list, you're gonna have a very long ignore list in a very short period.

I have missed anyone here seeing them as victims. I suspect only the tea party type and other fundies would see them that way - and I understand some fundies don't like them. (re: attacking dead American soldiers).
