Split From Peaceful protester harassed .

Your posts are disruptive. Is it ok for someone to beat you senseless? (hypothetically speaking and intending no stated or implied personal threat).

He was injured by his own actions in resisting removal by law-enforcementor security personnel from an area which he had been told by proper authority to leave. He was committing a misdemeanor. Allowing him to continue was not an option.

By your reasoning, twoof tards are free to walk into Larry Sillverstein's office and stand there staring at anybody coming in or out.

The security detail did not punch the old fart. He resisted their efforts to remove him and got injured in the process. Too bad.

Actually my reasoning is nothing like that since one case has a private citizen at his place of business and the other has a public figure at a public event. But other than that...

It does not appear to me that anybody in that room wanted him there, including any of the audience members who appear on camera. You do not have a right to disrupt an event and annoy people like a teatard or a twoofer at a lecture.

Or like a teacher in Wisconsin. :D As a Wisconsinite, I don't want them there; they make it difficult to get to the pub for Scotch Eggs and a pint. Plus, they keep hollering stuff I don't care about. Can I get someone to rough them up?

same thing has happened many times in political events of both colours in the united states, and people always seems to blame the party or person hosting the event, when it could easily be the same guards doing it. cause i doubt the secret services has different procedures for different parties. they get tough when they need to be tough whether bush, clinton or obama is on the podium.

if we are going to criticize the system we must do it fairly, not only when we don’t like the colour.

just my opinion

cheers

Give me a break you mean to tell me that two officers can't remove an old man without bruising and bloodying him? That's pathetic.

We don't have the entire story but these self-righteous cops invent the need for force in their minds.

To just say that he deserved it is pretty low.

I see this logic all the friggen time and it irks me.

Someone being made of glass doesn't give them the right to do whatever they want. And as a matter of fact, if they are prone to being injured they should avoid activities that could cause injury such as protesting that is treading on the fine line of trespassing.

The cops don't know the guy's intentions, and a knife, not to mention a gun, wielded by an old man is just as effective if placed properly , as one used by a young man. So they cannot suddenly give him special treatment, it is their safety at stake as well as his.

If he was concerned about his own safety he would have walked off and followed the officer's orders in order to avoid getting hurt, but he didn't, instead hoping they would just stand there perplexed for fear of hurting him. Sneaky, unhonorable, and plain stupid.

Disruptive? How are his posts stopping anyone from reading, or understanding any other posts in the thread? If he was posting in size 87 font , or bright yellow, he would indeed be virtually beat senseless, in the form of having his posts removed.

As someone who bruises like a grape, i can say a punch or blow would not be required to cause pretty severe bruising. And i am only 26, when i am this guys age, a bump into a wall will probably cause some pretty nasty bruising.

I could easily see myself, in the prime of my health, being bruised if someone had to remove me against my will from a place.

I assume you were saying this in sarcasm, given the account in the article about his “loud” and “obnoxious” protest…
When Secretary Clinton began her speech, Mr. McGovern remained standing silently in the audience and turned his back. Mr. McGovern, a veteran Army officer who also worked as a C.I.A. analyst for 27 years, was wearing a Veterans for Peace t-shirt.

Blind-sided by security officers who pounced upon him, Mr. McGovern remarked, as he was hauled out the door, "So this is America?" Mr. McGovern is covered with bruises, lacerations and contusions inflicted in the assault.

He was being disruptive and resisted the reasonable efforts of security officers performing in accordance with the demands of their job. His actions brought a predictable reaction from the security personnel. He bears the responsibility, so yes - he got what he deserved.

I'd like to hear more of the speech to see if this could possibly be more ironic.
