Yes, America is in the process of suicide. Diane Rehm had Pat on for the second hour yesterday, plugging his new book. I guess the campaign trail didn't beckon this time...
Anyway, what's causing America to "suicide"? Diversity. Yes, that's right, all those naughty furriners moving in. Why, white folks will be a minority in a few years.
"But Pat," you might say, "Aren't we all immigrants? What about all those generations of Germans and Irish and Italians and all... All of whom only wanted to become Americans?"
Well, that's the problem, according to Buchanan. These new immigrants. (Hispanics, Muslims, Asians...) aren't assimilating. All in the name of political correctness and "diversity", they are keeping their cultures and language and are not becoming proper Americans.
And that's all because of the public schools. Back in Pat's day (and mine) children were taught "patriotism" and they all had the same language and (pretty much) the same religion.
Not any more... We're doomed.
Does Pat have any recommendations to stop this cultural Armageddon? Nope... We're pretty much out of luck.
As you might imagine if you're a regular listener, Pat didn't get a lot of love from the Diane Rehm audience.
