Party Time !

I pictured Bill already waxing his pubes on a white beach.

Do you mean to tell me that Bill is still living in the states?

I believe he is girding (and possibly even waxing) his loins in preparation for the move he promised in 2008 to Brazil and 2012 to Australia, Canada or China.

I've had a quick look at the immigration requirements and I think Bill's best chance would be to try to move to Canada. I think he may find life difficult in Brazil or China because he has not mentioned speaking any of the local languages and at the moment it's very difficult to move to Australia unless you have some very specific skills or a job already lined up there.

I wish Bill the best on his international move but I fear that he'll still be a U.S. resident in 2016 even after unemployment has reached 20% (or 10% depending on which Bill prediction you choose), the special forces have resigned en-masse and huge numbers of U.S. business owners have moved abroad.

So Bill, if you're planning to move north into what I consider to be the best place on Earth (why yes I'm biased) you'll need to consider a few things:

a. What are you bringing to the table - ie any valuable skill sets, or do you just have wads of cash or a desire to work hard? Without any of that you might find yourself parked for an extended period of time;
b. What sort of firearms (if any) will you be bringing? We regulate them up here - and you'll need a federal permit to hold them or buy ammo. Pistols will require you to get a further license and automatic weapons are just right out;
c. We tax at a slightly higher rate than in the states - helps with the UHC;
d. Our politicians tend to be well, boring compared to the US - comes from recognizing that we need to be inclusive to get societal buy-in on potentially divisive issues;
e. Our politics are centrist, the Conservatives are slightly right of centre, the Liberals pretty much centrists, and the NDP are slightly left of centre;
f. Don't dis hockey, just don't;
g. The national beer brands are better than the national beer brands in the States (but if you get nostalgic you can get those here too); and
h. Unless you plan to live in south coastal British Columbia, bring a warm coat and boots for winter, or be prepared to get them.

Money isn't the only way to gauge the success of a country. To me it's part of what is important. What I see happened under Obama is that Gay marriage was voted through by popular vote for the first time ever in the United States (in Maryland and Massachusetts.)

This shows a changing in the way people are thinking. It shows a social responsibility towards one another and developing critical thinking skills.

Older fuddy duddy type people want to "get back to the way things were" when the gettin' was good.

But if you look at the golden eras in American history you are going to see the marginalizing of minority groups who flew under the radar and basically did without. When you try to balance out the rights of everyone in the country, the ones who seem to have had success can feel that things are not as good as they used to be. But it's simply that things are not as good as they used to be for you.

It's coming around and it makes me happy. The voice of the American people is turning into what it should be, the voice of all. Not the voice of the elite.

I don't understand you. But that is ok. I doubt you understand you. Do you? If you do, please explain what you are talking about. How is 10 percent unemployment a victory? Explain how 20 percent is not double digits. Are you grasping at straws? Are you looking for minutia to complain about in the absence of a real point?

No, I just notice in your Xmas Card Prediction you said 20% and now you are walking back to 'double digits'.

So that woudl be a walk back. That was my point. You are now changing your predictions.

Funny, people do read your posts for content.

The middle class is the working class. Nothing else could be more obvious.

Nope you were citing communist ideaology and muffed it.

I do read your posts:
""Middle Class" means "Worker Class" and "Spreading the wealth around"
did not work for the Soviet Union either. "

History has shown that complete and total state-run redistribution of all wealth in a society will lead to failure. Clearly the only viable solution is no-holds-barred economic anarchy. There is no conceivable middle ground whatsoever.

The above is a lose/lose for you. Either we take you at your word and conclude that you lack the simple reading comprehension to understand a very basic point that is being made, or we conclude that you are attempting to evade said point in a very clumsy and unconvincing way by feigning ineptitude.

How is 10 percent unemployment a victory?
That's simple. If you predict that unemployment will reach double digits (the minimum then being 10%) then an unemployment rate of 10% will validate your prediction. You will have been correct (victorious).

Do you understand now?

Explain how 20 percent is not double digits.
Wait! I thought you didn't understand Dancing David's post. You clearly do understand it. 20% is a double digit, but "double digits" could include lower figures down to 10% So which is it? Are you still predicting that unemployment will reach 20%, or are the goalposts set at a minimum of 10%?

Are you grasping at straws? Are you looking for minutia to complain about in the absence of a real point?
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the roar of the irony.

So you pick and choose who to listen to and form an opinion based on that?

Actually, the way to go is to listen first, then form an opinion based on what you've heard and how it compares with other information that you have. Savage is an idiotic shock-jock; a moronic, ignorant, hate-mongering homophobe. I have based my opinion of his credibility on his own statements.

Bill, spamming the same picture over and over doesn't suddenly make it true, it just ***** up the thread with more random noise.

I don't trust Bill with his gloom and doom predictions. He's stated twice now he wants America to fail, and I'm not sure why except for the fact that Obama got re-elected and he dislikes him? Sounds like an awfully childish way to go about things.

:confused:

Firefox Ad Blocker gives the option to block images as well. Just tried it and it's great. :D
