I'm so used to food packaging being quite insistent about not touching GMO's with a ten-foot pole that I was caught off guard by this humble statement on the back of a bag of chips.
Why they had to mention it, beats me.
There are, in fact, new regulations coming but this article says 2020.Legal requirement? I can't see any other reason.
Legal requirement? I can't see any other reason.
But in this case it seems there's a Vermont law requiring it, and some companies have decided to keep it simple and use the same labeling nationwide.
Why the fascination with equivocation fallacies? People at this site are smart enough to understand basic English words and contexts. Here is some bad news for those that want to avoid Genetic Engineered food. Just about all the food you can buy has been genetically altered from the wild versions. And I am not talking small stuff here. Broccoli and cauliflower came from the same wild plant. The corn you eat is nothing like what wild corn is.
So you want to stick to meat? Domesticated farm animals are nothing like their wild animals. Sheep need to have their wool removed or they suffer badly. Dogs were bred from wolfs.

Genetic engineering is not the same as selective breeding. D'oh
Oh really?Same result. Just different methods.
Oh really?
Explain how this happens with selective breeding.

Actually I think Dr. Wilson did an excellent job describing the meaning of Bollinedi et al. 2017. Her article was certainly fact based and does explain to people why all these years later we still are no closer to an actual significant golden rice crop. Why are you referencing an article by Allison Wilson, with quotes from Jonathan Latham, on the anti-GMO website they founded? The couple are notorious propagandists who cherrypick and misinterpret legitimate science findings as well as republish nonsense from other pseudoscience and anti-GMO organizations.
No it is a far superior and safer route. Why the fascination with equivocation fallacies? People at this site are smart enough to understand basic English words and contexts.

No actually it has some advantages in certain very simplified situations, but regarding complex traits like yields, flavor etc.. it is far inferior to conventional breeding techniques. No it is a far superior and safer route.
It's the cooking oils. Lays uses corn canola and/or sunflower oilsIt would be nice to know what the purpose of the GE was -- preservation, yield, taste, etc.?
