NEW SKEPTICAL WEBSITE ABOUT PARANORMAL STATE:
paranormalstateillustrated.com

YOUR FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED
I hope you will visit my new, skeptical Website about the A&E TV series Paranormal State which airs in the United States. I would like your feedback as to the design and content of my Website.

I have shown some examples of what I believe to be false, misleading, and inaccurate claims on the series. For example:

"Vegas"
Read the e-mail from Stephanie showing that she and her purported "medium" daughter Savannah saw the Website about Emily Garcia before Paranormal State started filming. This was not mentioned in the episode.

"The Glove"
See where they used similar video of THE SAME broken glass and portrayed it as two distinct incidents.

"Haunted Piano"
Used exact scene (as well as footage most likely shot on one day) and passed it off as happening on two different days.

I have more examples and observations on my Website, so please visit and let me know what you think.

Thank you,

Ernie M

Ernie, the website itself is well done. Good use of design, graphics, fonts and so on. The links into he site at the top of the front page could be a little more prominent, or displayed again at the bottom.

As for the contant, one thing I would do is add a synopsis section for each of the episodes you discuss, giving a dead-pan description of what transpires in he episode. Make no judgments, offer no opinions, draw no conclusions, just summarize it, detailed enough that all the information following it has a contextual "handle" to be hung on, and separate it from the rest of the text in a disinctive way, so one can read at a glance what the "baseline" for the episode is before climbing into the criticisms, opinions, contrary data and evidence. A bit more didacticism will highlight your evidence.

Well this forum is made up mostly of woo woo debunkers already. Paranormal shows are fun to watch even if no ghosts actually exist. Those inconsistencies only go to show that there ain't no ghosts and that they have to resort to trickery and deceit to foster interest.

But I think it's important to show that this is the case, and to identify - with clear evidence - why that is so.

The day they stop flooding the screens with these stupid programs, is the day I will think it's ok not to support another site like this.

Thank you everyone for your comments so far. Please keep on commenting so I can improve the Website.

shadron:
I have a technical (computer program) difficulty to overcome in order to make the links at the top of the page appear bigger. They are bigger on my computer, but when I upload them, they appear substantially smaller on the Internet. I'm working to fix this, though.

"Synopsis"
I will add a non-judgmental synopsis for each episode I review. This is an excellent point, so visitors can familiarize themselves with what's going on. Then, I will present information as to why I feel people should question the accuracy, authenticity and integrity of Paranormal State.

Thank you!

The page loads all graphics for the different sections seperately (and not just the sections: this goes for the individual episode and even summary pages as well) and doesn't seem to realize the background is always the same. Clear your cache and try it out. I also think the header could be a bit more distinct and have more punch.

But it's a good and very ambitious project.

You take a calm and thoughtful approach--no accusations, just evidence. I like it! It's a nice balance to the show.

I believe I am posting never-before-seen documentation on the Internet of what appears to be false, misleading, and inaccurate information portrayed on the TV series Paranormal State.

Want to see a faked moon in the sky, and other questionable items?

On 11 Nov 2008, here is what I’ve just added to paranormalstateillustrated.com

SEASON 1 EPISODES
“Vegas” episode
“School House” door in “Vegas”
What’s Shannon Sylvia’s condo door doing in “Vegas,” and is that Shannon opening it?

”Neighborhood” library?!

Under the “QUESTIONABLE” tab I’ve added eight new pages:

Reused sun-through-the-tree
Same scene used in two episodes.

Reused recorder segment
Same Sony M-670V micro-cassette recorder segments shown in different episodes

Improperly worn masks
Some of the Paranormal Research Society (PRS), including Founder Ryan Buell, don’t know how to wear simple safety gear. So, do you think they know how to use more complex equipment?

Faked moon scene
See a montage made from video from two episodes. Did you notice the tree branches moving across the moon, even though there is no tree in the “montage” scene?! Fake.

Same library scene
Two episodes use microforms footage shot for “School House Haunting”

Same lightning
Used in two episodes

Same bird
Used in two episodes

Same & similar bridge/sun
Same/similar bridge/sun shown in five Season One episodes, which took place in five different cities. And, someone took the time to reverse some of the footage, but I’ll show you that, too.

I hope you will visit my Website.
