Yeah, my Brother and Sister in Law are Fundies and they thought the end times were in the mid-eighties. Of course that's long since been updated to the 21st century.

I remember when it was considered good to be a " discriminating individual".

Mind you - when I was a kid, god was nominally male , but never messed with women. I'm expecting Him to come out any day now.

I love the Non-Sequitur where it's the first day of class, and someone asks

"What's the difference between Astronomy and Astrology?"

He just says, "Lots and lots of math." Next frame, the class is empty.
