I may be wrong on this, but Ayers was never brought to trial because of FBI shenanigans. To my knowledge Ayers never served time for terrorism or bombings, and it is still unclear exactly what he did except belong to terrorist organization.
He spent 7 years living underground and this was what I was referring to. He emerged when the government decided not to prosecute him due to prosecutorial misconduct.
Hamad Karzai, "installed" in the Presidency by G.W. Bush and Karzai's brother and other
members of the Afghan government, on the other hand are currently living off the proceeds of the illegal heroin trade in their country. Not only that but, as the NY Times (whom Sara Palin quotes with respect to Obama's almost non-existent relationship to Ayers) discovered, Karzai's office and his brother both have interfered in the confiscation and arrest of heroin smugglers (by U.S. agents) with truckloads of the drug, ordering them freed and to be allowed on their way, including their cargo.
And Sara Palin, when she was only a week or two younger than she is today, met with Karzai in his hotel suite in NYC. In fact Karzai hosted a reception for her, an event where the RNC wanted no reporters present but relented.
A portion of the income from the aforementioned drug trade goes to purchase weapons and ammunition used by terrorists to kill American and NATO troops. In my book that far and away exceeds the well defined and harmless contact Obama has had with Ayers. When Ayers was active against the Viet Nam war Obama was 8 years old. When Sara Palin had cordial contact with Hamad Karzai she was a candidate for the Vice Presidency of the United States. If anyone is to be determined as dangerous to the United States it is McCain/Palin.
