Palin Family Involved in Drunken Brawl

My feeling about Sarah Palin is, she was one of those political celebrities that came out of nowhere and for a short time seemed to have major league star power. Except the national spotlight is remorseless and you better be the real deal. It seems that she eventually was revealed to be nothing more than an opportunist of no substance. Palin seems to be smart enough to have realized this -- politically she's going nowhere -- and since resigning as Alaska governor she seems to be mostly just trying to cash in on her notoriety. In that regard she's done okay. She hasn't won a lot of respect but she's made a lot of money.

I understand that people who really supported her and believed in her back in 2008 are going to still feel some loyalty -- or maybe they just hate to admit they were so completely wrong -- and will continue to defend her. Only now I think she's reaching the point where her antics are starting cost her the support of even her most dedicated supporters, most of whom are probably going to quietly abandon ship.

And Lord knows she's got issues. Check out this link to a page examining her college days.

While the yelling and shirt off, fingering giving, pacing son might very well be described as a 'thug', I'm going to offer a tentative defense of the Palin daughters here. Depending on what was going on with the guy who 'wanted a go' with the other daughter, the actions of the older daughter might have been justified. They might have appeared not because of her drunken state (if that's accurate), but that doesn't throw out the possibility she was defending her little sister.

That doesn't mean all the actions would be justified, or that lying about being there is acceptable. Maybe the Palins were drunkenly partying, and maybe they were drunkenly brawling, but then again, those who are saying it would have been the same people drunkenly partying with them, and might have started the drunk brawling. Who actually knows?

It's her fault because she wasn't supposed to bring her kids to the party.

And you know this how, exactly?

No pics or it didn't happen? Do you work for the NFL?

How are we hearing about this? Through rumor and innuendo spread by anti-Palin bloggers, and perhaps one person who claims to be an eyewitness? We've all seen how wrong the media gets the facts on incidents where the police are doing a full-blown investigation, and we're supposed to believe that the information posted by anti-Palin bloggers is credible?

I'm inclined to believe there was some sort of brawl at a party, and that some members of the Palin family were involved in some way. I think that's pretty much all that can be concluded so far. And each day that goes by in which no hard evidence whatsoever is presented, whether it be videographic, photographic, audiographic, or even sworn testimony, the more skeptical I become.

When the pics show up, and they will, I will be interested in what you have to say then.

Well, you can post here or PM me when it shows up. I won't be holding my breath though.

That's pretty much what was posted (except for a few more details):

Willow's ex-boyfriend (apparently a guy called "Corey") attended the party...Bristol and Willow, the famous mean girls from Wasilla, started to harass him all night in such a bad way that Chris, the host of the party, was forced to intervene....The fight started after Bristol, with her sunglasses still on at about 11.00 pm and visibly drunk, approached the host (the owner of the house, not Marc McKenna) and "complained" to him that some people at the party "want to have a go at Willow." The host then tried to assure Bristol that this was not the case, but Bristol had none of it and started to punch the host in the face...The host tried again to calm Bristol down, but she continued punching out at him. So then the host carried Bristol out of the house and demanded that every member of the Palin family should leave the party...Then the police arrived and told all guests to leave and go home. Link

One heartbeat away. :boggled:

If she was president right now and Ukraine was going on we'd either be dead or adjusting to a new economy where canned food and shotguns shells are the new currency.

From being the children of a President?

Sarah Palin is about as objectionable a former politician/current noisemaker as it's possible to be...but her daughters would have held no official government position had she been elected VP.

I've always suspected the choice of Palin for the ticket was based on Republican strategists misinterpreting the popularity of reality television as proof of immense American love for white trash.

If this is true, and the full extent, one drunk being evicted is not a brawl.

The rise of Sarah Palin is clear evidence that Republican strategists have read Mencken and interpreted his sarcasm as advice.

No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have researched the records for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.”
― H.L. Mencken, Notes on Democracy

Well, someone from the Palin camp confirms they were there, a brawl took place, and Sarah herself was involved with "shouting".

The source who spoke to Real Clear Politics for its article on Saturday said, however, there were a few details the Palin family saw differently, including how the fighting began.

The RCP source confirmed that Sarah Palin's son, Track Palin, was the first family member involved in the fight, and Todd Palin, Sarah's husband, was the next member to intervene.

But the source said Track Palin was not the one who picked a fight with his sister Willow Palin's ex-boyfriend. The former boyfriend allegedly "tried to get in" the Palin's stretch Hummer limousine after some "questionable behavior," leading Track to get involved, according to the source. The source said four men then began fighting with Track, after which Todd Palin intervened and ended up bleeding from the fight. The source also said Track Palin ended up with four cracked ribs.

While RCP's account was vague on some details, previous reports said there were at least two separate fights at the party that involved the Palins. One of the altercations, according to eyewitness Eric Thompson, who spoke to multiple news outlets, involved Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin, who was seen punching the host of the party multiple times.

Alaska journalist Amanda Coyne, who first broke the news of the brawl, initially reported that Bristol Palin demonstrated that night she had "a particularly strong right hook."

While the RCP source did not dispute Bristol was involved in the altercation, the person "took issue" with the idea that she threw a punch with her right hand. The source, according to Real Clear Politics, noted "that the eldest Palin daughter is left-handed."

The RCP source also disputed Thompson's account to ABC's "Good Morning America" that Sarah Palin could be heard yelling "Do you know who I am?" during the commotion.

The source said Sarah Palin was actually shouting about her son's status as a military veteran.

The source said Sarah Palin was shouting "Don’t you know who he is? He’s a vet!"

Thanks, Senator McCain, for nominating this freak to take over the country if something happened to you.

Pssh, my mom still won't let me go to parties like that.

I'm still not seeing why this incident reflects poorly on her. For whatever reason, the family was offended or attacked by somebody or somebodies, and they stood up for each other. Is that so bad?
