It does sometimes seem to me that in the US organized crime is organized around newly immigrated communities (ie in the 20's they were predominantly Italian, Irish and Jewish, now they seem to be Latino and various flavours of Eastern European).

However, the OP is missing the true cause. New immigrant communites tend to be poor. Criminal organizations recruit much better amongst the poor (the risk/reward analysis of criminal activity is more attractive to those who are poor). Hence criminal organizations tend to be comprised much more heavily of those from immigrant communities.

This has nothing to do with propensities for any particular ethnic group towards crminial behaviour, but much more to do with basic economic and sociological facts.

Immigrants, on average, are younger, poorer and less educated than native-born danes. I don't have the stats handy, but I would bet that younger is the biggest correlation with crime here. Danes average age is now up to 40, with a big increase in the over-80 population. Not a lot of rapists are over 80.

considering that I was addressing a related side issue brought up by Tyr_13, not your OP, I was not hand-waving anything.

No I did not read your link. I generally avoid links by avowed racists. Anyway, the only way to conclude that criminal activity rates of Palestinian immigrants in Denmark is due to thier being Palestinian, would be to show similar criminal activity rates amongst Palestinians in other countries, including area governed by the PA. Failing that, the more logical conclusion is that there is somehting environmental in thier situation in Denmark that causes the high crminality.

Comparing criminality rates amongst various groups in the same country simply does not show that the cause is genetic. There are too many possible environmental factors (such as how the group is treated by the host country) to make the conclusion that the specific race is the cause.

Thunder, I am a gay, athiest of Jewish heritage. I could really care less what an avowed white supremecist calls me (I already know what he thinks of me).

And just to rile him up further, although not currently dating, I do tend to prefer Latinos (already mostly a mixed European-Native American group) so I guess Arcade22 can add race-traitor and miscegenator (sort of) to my list of undesirable qualities.
