The survey was conducted using live calls on Friday 2/25/11 and Saturday 2/26/11. Calls were
done to a random sample of Wisconsin voters with phone numbers. The sample size was 806.
The estimated margin of error is +/‐ 3.5% at the 95% confidence level on the first question.

They called 806 people? How does that equal 1.1 million? Microtargeting? I bet I could "microtarget" a poll and prove that hummus is actually worth eating, if I called the right people. How much you want to bet everyone they called had a 608 area code? (Don't bet much, because you'd lose.) Try it in the 262 or the 414, and you'd find 1.1 million voters who are against a recall.

A recall would be interesting to see, but this nonsense has nothing to do with reality. Just some butt-hurt Democrat wishfully thinking.

Uh, dude...? I've lived in or near Madison for the majority of my life. People down there protested when Lucky Charms phased out the yellow moon-shaped marshmallows. They'll protest at the drop of a hat. No one in the rest of the state takes them seriously. We call Madison "Seventy-Eight Square Miles Surrounded By Reality".

Wisconsin has a little over five million people. Less than a quarter of a million live in Madison. Even if every single resident of Madison voted for a recall it wouldn't happen.

I work in a northern suburb of Milwaukee (M'Wahkee to the locals). My job employs about three hundred people, and out of all of them; I can think of exactly one that supports the unions in this, and he's a stump-dumb snowplow driver that's worried about his gravy train derailing. My "microtargeted" poll, (conducted at the coffee machine) says not only will this recall not work, but it also has shown that five hundred thousand people in Wisconsin think that summer sausage is one of the four food groups.

See, I can make up big numbers based on small numbers, too. Before you start slinging mud, I didn't vote for Walker (or anyone for that matter, I just like to sit back and watch the show. Politics is bad for the blood pressure.)

Uh, dude....you may want to check your math. The highest total for the crowd reported locally has been 70,000. Madison has approx 235,000 folks. That's just in the city limits. The MSA approaches 600,000.

Let everyone know your exact thoughts on the proper relationship of bloated, government unions feeding forced dues to elected officials who turn around and give them everything they want, feeding them other peoples' money.

I highlighted the relevant word. MM makes it sound like this is a foregone conclusion, and that there are over a million people slavering for this idiot's (Walker, I mean) blood. Nothing could be further from the truth. They polled four percent of the voting population. Four percent's not much of a sample. Not enough to start grave dancing on, anyway.

It's no different that the Tea Partier's polls that show that four hundred million percent of the US population think Obama is a reptilian from Kenya and that universal health care is a bad idea. (<--hyperbole) Polls like this are nonsense, from either side of the aisle.

Are you familiar with statistics and random sampling? You know, you can represent a large group of people as long as your sampling methods are good (random) enough. About the sample size of 806, a sample size around 1000 is actually pretty good. They even gave a t-interval to make up for their extrapolation.
Anyway, by actually trying (emphasis on "trying" on their part) to measure the amount of people who want a recall, they did a lot better than your assumption about 262 and 414 area codes. Just sayin'.

The real problem is that Walker beat Barrett by 125,000 votes (1,129 k to 1,004 k). A million is a lot of voters.
