You are very very badly mistaken about the US system of government. Both in how it compares to the UK system, and in and of itself. You are just looking at it the wrong way. The head of state is the Queen for the UK (Monarchy) or the President of the USA (elected). The Prime Minister is the equivalent of the USA leader of the House. Since the head of state in the USA is elected, he has more power than the head of state of the UK, who, over time, has become more of a figure head than anything else. Just imagine if the President of the USA was like the head of state of other countries that also have an elected president who actually has very little power. Then the Leader of the House would be in effect the leader of the USA.
Isn't that what we're complaining about with the Republicans?
Incidentally I notice the SNP have dubbed Bojo 'The last PM of the UK' not sure it will be accurate but the fact it even could be speaks volumes.
is going to alienate a lot of the less extreme conservatives.
It's a comb over.
Comb forward? Not by the usual meaning of the phrase it isn't.
Yes, but at times it's a justifiable action.
Even if Scotland leaves, you still have Wales and N.I....
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Minister_of_ScotlandWikipedia said:The First Minister is nominated by the Scottish Parliament from among its members at the beginning of each term, by means of an exhaustive ballot. They are then formally appointed by the monarch.[7]
In theory, any member of the Scottish Parliament can be nominated for First Minister. However, the government must maintain the confidence of the Scottish Parliament to in order to gain supply (access to exchequer funds). For this reason, the First Minister is almost always the leader of the largest party, or the leader of the senior partner in any majority coalition.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicola_SturgeonWikipedia said:Nominations for the SNP leadership closed on 15 October, with Sturgeon confirmed as the only candidate.[37] On this date, Sturgeon also came out on top in a trust rating opinion poll, conducted for the SNP, which indicated that 54% of the Scottish population trusted her to "stand up for Scotland's interests".[38] Sturgeon was formally acclaimed as the first female Leader of the SNP on 14 November 2014 at the Autumn Conference in Perth, with Hosie as her depute. This also effectively made her First Minister in waiting, given the SNP's absolute majority in the Scottish Parliament.
Woody Johnson told the BBC the two had a lot in common in their leadership style and desire to "get things done".
He played down the PM's criticism of Mr Trump when he was London mayor, when he called him "stupefyingly ignorant".

As I said, only candidate (of the largest party) and therefore duly rubber stamped by the Scottish Parliament, and formally appointed by the Queen.
The new Leader of the House of Commons Jacob Rees-Mogg has instructed all staff in his new office to use imperial measurements and refer to ‘non-titled males’ as ‘esquire’.
Issuing a style guide in the first week of his job, he also bans colleagues from using various words in correspondence with other MPs and the public.
Among the list of bizarre rules, he asks staff not to use the words “got”, “very” or “equal”.

It remains the fact that Boris got over ninety thousand more votes immediately before becoming PM than Sturgeon got before becoming First Minister.
Continue to quibble if you must. Maybe you should attempt to edit the Wikipedia entries too.
I'll take the hit. It would make 5 in 25k posts, which is quite neat![]()
