Merged Osama bin Laden dead,

He's dead. If he wasn't dead we could expect an audio / vid tape from him already or real soon. It is nosensical / irrational to think that the chain of command down to enlisted SEALS could keep such a hoax secret for long.

People high in the govt. have big egos, somebody would have to spill the beans and take credit for exposing Obama as a liar. Al Queda confirmed that he was dead. From the pictures released of the tail section of the helicopter, we know American armed forces were there.

Even Michelle Bachman said "We got our man" as if she had someting to do w/ it. This is the Congresswoman from Minn. who said that the 2010 census was a conspiracy. That someone needs to investigate congress to weed out Unamericans. She is the mother of all conspiracists. When she says he's dead, he's dead.

The conspiracists on this thread need to catch a new gear, strictly amatuers. If you want to learn how to be a professional conspiracist, go to infowars dot com
they even have a conspiracy for food.

Stuff the gov't "doesn't want you to know". If gov't didn't want us to know, then how the hell did they find out about it?

OBL wasn't just an enemy of the US. He was an enemy to just about every country in the known world. Sure, some did not see him as that, but the vast majority did. Maybe not to Lybia

Libya tried to kill him back in the 90s.

The fact that the government (Meaning the big wigs in the White House, the State Department, and the CIA) havesaid exactly that.

Links please.

But hey, don't let facts get in your way. They never have before....

I wonder why you'd feel compelled to personalize the issue with a stupid, bitchy comment like that.

OBL wasn't just an enemy of the US. He was an enemy to just about every country in the known world. Sure, some did not see him as that, but the vast majority did. Maybe not to Lybia, or maybe Somolia, but those two countries have been known to harbour terrorists. Somolia really has no functioning government to speak of.

Your comment about Libya is revealingly ignorant.

What makes you presume this?
This question says a lot about your thinking. It makes sense to you that all the military and government people who have seen the pictures, including the president, are lying. They must be conspiring towards some nefarious ends.
So comforting to think of one's enemies as monsters. Did you know that the "U.S." is also widely regarded as a monster?
Yes, I know that some misguided people think of the U.S. as a monster, not sure why you would take comfort in that.

What made Bin Laden a monster was not his enmity but his delight in slaughtering non-combatants.
ETA: You failed to mention which other conspiracies you had in mind.
It's off topic, but if you really want an example of a wacky conspiracy, I'll choose 9-11.

You appear to have misunderstood my question.

I was asking why you presume that the reason that the USG decided not to release dead bin Laden pics was to "avoid offending Muslims, part of that would be not appearing to gloat".

What evidence do have that this is the reason?

Yes, I know that some misguided people think of the U.S. as a monster, not sure why you would take comfort in that.

What makes you think they are misguided? The US is an extremely violent and dangerous force.

I wasn't taking comfort in it. I was challenging the comfort that derives from painting one's enemies as monsters and one's friends as saints, even when your friends are former enemies, or vice versa!

What made Bin Laden a monster was not his enmity but his delight in slaughtering non-combatants.

Evidence of such delight, please.

It's off topic, but if you really want an example of a wacky conspiracy, I'll choose 9-11.

If it's off-topic, why did you mention it? It's interesting that you consider 9-11 to be a wacky conspiracy.

Links please.

You got it champ!!

It's a perfectly reasonable comment, especially considering this exact exchange.

Your comment about Libya is revealingly ignorant.

Yep, I will admit, it was speculation. Hence, why I said "MAYBE", and did not claim it as fact.

Your hatred of America is revealingly ignorant.

So that leaves Somalia as the only place in the world where bin Laden isn't regarded as a monster. Is that correct?

No, I am sure there are other parts of the world. Apparently your house for one. I am sure that in parts of Afganistan and Pakistan, parts of the UAE, and maybe even Saudi Arabia, most likely in places like Syria there are people who do not view him as a monster, but that's just a guess.

Thank you. What does "champ" mean in this context?

It's a perfectly reasonable comment, especially considering this exact exchange.

It's an example of attacking the arguer and not the argument.

I enjoy grown-up debating.

Because that is exactly what was said by the White House. Der.

See the links in my previous post.

What makes you think they are misguided? The US is an extremely violent and dangerous force.

Yep. Don't **** with us or our friends, we won't bomb you into the stone age, and then shoot you in the face.

I wasn't taking comfort in it. I was challenging the comfort that derives from painting one's enemies as monsters and one's friends as saints, even when your friends are former enemies, or vice versa!

So, should w have labeled him something else?

Evidence of such delight, please.

Damn near every video and statement from Al Qeada in regards to attacks they have carried out.

If it's off-topic, why did you mention it? It's interesting that you consider 9-11 to be a wacky conspiracy.

Yes, it is interesting, and quite frankly, assinine.

See the links in my previous post.

Your point?

What makes you take White House words at their face value?

Yep. Don't **** with us or our friends, we won't bomb you into the stone age, and then shoot you in the face.

So, should w have labeled him something else?

Labeling is distorting. A label is a stereotype.

Damn near every video and statement from Al Qeada in regards to attacks they have carried out.

Links, please, to videos showing bin Laden delighting in slaughtering non-combatants.

Nice shift of the goalposts. Would you care to address the articles in regards to your statement re: the photos of bin Laden not being released?

My "Thank you" addresses the articles.

Report me.

Okay.
