Lets catagorize!

Linux 4 Kerry? Windows 4 Bush? Select your predominant operating system and your favorite candidate.

If none of the above catagories fit, choose "I hate poorly constructed polls!"

I chose Kerry/Other.

Kerry is an early version of Data General RDOS.

Bush is an early version of an abacus, with beads missing.

Windows keeps me employed. Bush does not.

(Very funny poll, by the way.)

Both Bush & Kerry seem like "Windows" candidates to me. Slow, bulky, unstable, insecure, kinda stupid, yet they put on a good show.

I'd rather have a Linux candidate; a relatively stable, quick, intelligent candidate who, when he f---s up, you can go in and fix him without waiting on hold with tech support in India to tell you that a patch will be available in four years.

An interesting thought.

I had a tough time because I am a Windows person and working in a Microsoft shop.

However I have recently taken an interest in Linux and have been pushing it's use at work.

They both seem like Windows, because their services are questionable and seem to have flaws that could compromise the functionality.

I gotta go with jj on Bush being an abacus. :D

Kerry is Windows since he appears to be constantly rebooting and updating.

I'm kind of in the same situation. My real job is developing for Windows, but at home I use Linux and I work for Gentoo in my spare time. So I picked Kerry/Linux, even though that's a lie; I'm voting for Cobb because Kerry's going to win New York anyway.

I got interesting in Linux (Redhat) mainly for routing, PPTP, and IPSec. i am going to teach myself PHP when I get done with some other projects.

PHP is very, very cool. I'm a web app developer by trade, and I've been really happy with it. For a coding platform, it's definitely one of my favs, second only to J2EE.

Obviously you never used Data General RDOS, Luke :)

I got interested in it for administration of said router. I'm a VB programmer by trade.

Even though Bush uses Windows, I think he is more like Linux.

He promises that if you stop paying for something, you will actually get more of it.

Its looking like Bush supporters only use Windows.

my suspicions are confirmed...
