Open Letter to Dave Thomas

Search and rescue, securing the scene, scene survey, structural observation, fire progression......

Firefighters do more than fight fire.

Building 7 had been evacuated already, so there would have been no search and rescue going on by that time. How does the phrase "pull it" refer to "securing the scene, scene survey, structural observation, fire progression"?

'Therefore, at approximately x:xx p.m*., FDNY officers who had evaluated the condition of WTC 7, the availability of fire fighting resources (including water supply) for operations at WTC 7, and the potential dangers for conducting operations inside WTC 7 decided that it was not worth the additional risk to human life. They decided to abandon the building completely, and the final order was given to evacuate the site around the building.'

NCSTAR 1-9 Vol 1, p 303

*You'll have to actually read the pdf to get the time. I just want to see if you'll actually crack open the report instead of forcing others to read it for you.

R.E.A.D. T.H.E. R.E.P.O.R.T.

Is there anybody home inside your head?

How does the term "pull it," and its context: "And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse..." refer to "evacuat[ing] the site around the building" ?

What day is Larry quoted saying, "pull it"?

What is the exact day and hour he is taped saying pull it?

Can you do more than mess up things and post nothing?

Can you find anything?

Larry was talking about pull it when? What day did he say pull it? BTW, pull it refers to firefighting efforts, men and efforts to be stopped. You will find Larry said this long after 911, and since it is clear he is talking about fire fighting efforts, only a moron would think he is talking about blowing up a building.

. . . And Newton's Bit also seems to think that temperature is a form of energy that can weaken steel.

Why don't you ask Silverstein? Oh, wait, his spokesman has already explained it....on page 302 of the report you've been referred to.

But you don't really care about these things, do you? You're just looking for a way to twist anything that was said, misconstrue it to implicate FDNY and Silverstein in the Great Conspiracy™, that terrified fantasy that consumes you.

I think that most people who want to say "clear the people away" or "evacuate the area" before psychically intuiting that the building is going to drop would probably say something more like: "clear the people away" or "evacuate the area." Don't you?

Larry said in an interview aired in September 2002, pull it, and it means the fire support and people. If you fail to understand this it is not a surprise since you can't figure out physics, temperature, or voltage.

Wow, you think pull it means blow up WTC 7 with silent explosives. Good for you, no clue about anything but posting off topic single line stupid statements. Can you post references for your statements?

Who cares? FDNY says that they pulled their men from the area, or ceased operations, or stopped firefighting efforts. The meaning is the same.

What do you think Silverstein meant as he was on the phone to the FDNY Commander?

But Larry said: "Maybe the best thing to do is just pull it. And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse."

How did he know the building was about to collapse? How was he able to "order" the evacuation just in time to save those firefighters' lives?

And more stupidly, why would Larry Silverstein have any say whatsoever in whether to pull firefighters or not?

By the same token, Ergo was obsessing about the exact wording of FDNY testimony regarding the fires.
So if the fires were variously described as 'fully involved', 'engulfed', 'all 47 stories', 'virtually every floor', this somehow demonstrates that....what? That the building wasn't extensively on fire? That it couldn't (as in 'impossible') have collapsed from fires?

All these inquiries reveal is that different people speaking off-the-cuff will use different language, and therefore there will be inconsistency. That's it. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole-hill.

So then, is ozeco's statement

correct? If so, please explain it.

His statement is mostly correct. One can plot the yield strength of steel vs. temperature of that steel.

But temperature is not a type of energy, as you have posted. Nor is it specifically a measurement of thermal energy in a body. If you want to know what the thermal energy in a body is you need to know the mass of the body, the specific heat of the material as well as the temperature. Temperature alone can only be used for qualitative statements, such as "this piece of steel is hotter than that piece of copper". It cannot be used, in itself, to quantitatively judge which piece has more thermal energy.

How did he know the building was about to collapse?

FDNY felt the building was in danger of collapsing. Read the report. There is no evidence Larry 'knew' it was going to collapse. Maybe he just thought it might.

How was he able to "order" the evacuation just in time to save those firefighters' lives?

He didn't order the evacuation.

And more stupidly, why would Larry Silverstein have any say whatsoever in whether to pull firefighters or not?

You're right. That is a stupid question. Why are you asking it? He had no authority to order any evacuation, even in his own building. But he was consulted, or informed, by FDNY - considering the utter mayhem that day, I'd say FDNY was very professional in even taking the time to discuss it on the phone.

Again, kudos to FDNY and the heros of 9/11.

ps. Are you going to take the Silverstein Properties spokesman literally, even though he's actually paraphrasing? (and IMO speculating). You simply do not know exactly what was said in that conversation, as it was not recorded.

So you have nothing but recollections. What matters is that Silverstein could not order the evacuation. He had no such authority. You are chasing ghosts and red herrings.

To you magic weakens steel.
woodsteelfire.jpg

What is voltage again? Did you figure out any physics yet? Did you know wood is holding the steel I-beam? Was it fire, temperature, or magic? What made the steel bend?

Replying to your failed ideas takes the time it takes to type. Reading, typing and rational thinking are fundamental. Why are you only able to form idiotic statements with no substance on this topic?
