Hmmmm.....the plot is thickening. Apparently these aliens are made of clay, which means that they must function in a manner different than any other known organism. Thus, proving that it is extra-teristeral.

In a related story, a group of researchers recently came across an acient burial ground believed to be used by a previous unknown race. They call them the "skeleton people," because they apparently had no flesh or internal organs, based on the recovered remains.

Actually, it's probably a golem. Methinks the spinster of that parish did meddle with the Black Arts.
 
I think they're trying to prove it is a model of a real alien, which is stupid.
