Over the years, CPAC has developed a reputation, as sex blogger Tony Bravo put it, “ for being one of the biggest gay hook-up destinations this side of the White Party.” The Craigslist “No Strings Attached” section, over the years, has become a convenient spot for the same people who regularly attempt to deprive the LGBT community of equal rights–to get down and dirty with some hot, steamy “discreet” M4M action!

Well, the ads could be jokes to see who runs with the story.
The ads could also be from reporters covering the event.

I am not throwing up those ideas because I am defending the One True Faith (Republicanism); I merely want to approach the issue in a skeptical manner: consider all possibilities before deciding which is most likely.

That being said, it probably is a bunch of closeted right-wingers placing the ads and hoping to get some action. I will not call them hypocrites for this reason: if one enjoys closeted gay hookups then preventing LGBT civil rights legislation helps ensure that there will be more closeted homosexuals to choose from.

The most likely explanation is that these aren't real ads.

Anyone can anonymously put up an ad on Craigslist, so the reporter who wrote this article could have wrote the ads himself. There's no way to prove that these ads actually come genuine CPAC attendees (except to actually respond to them, and only then if you can actually meet them in person and verify their identity, which won't happen because they want to be discrete).

Anyway, assuming it is real, there is an out gay group of Republicans that might be in attendance: GOProud (not the Log Cabin Republicans).
