The (presumed) fact that he's pandering doesn't blow my mind. What blows my mind is that he fundamentally doesn't understand the abortion debate. That is very strange, presumably.I also think that #2 is at play.

Herman's new Foreign Policy team as come up with a new catch phrase for the Cainster:
"peace through strength and clarity"

Me too, in a twisted way.I like Herman Cain. He's funny.
At the start, I think he was more about selling books than becoming POTUS. But then he found himself on top of the polls, and that's gotta be a heady experience, especially for a narcissist. If it's true he was laughing, I'll bet he's not laughing anymore. One's sense of humor tends to deflate when one finds a microscope rammed up one's *******.And I am sure he isn't even serious about becoming president and so he's seeing just how far he can laugh at everyone who takes him seriously.
After his defenders all came forward to say that sexual harassment had never occurred, Cain now admits to it...

No, he now admits that he was accused; he still denies that he harassed. After his defenders all came forward to say that sexual harassment had never occurred, Cain now admits to it...
Cain: Impressive second ... I came within 2 percentage points.
Herman, I'd like to introduce you to reality and vice versa. 2004 GA primary results:
Isakson: 53.2%
Cain: 26.2%
I mean really, wtf?
(you never know what might be culled from the Puzzles section)
He admits there were allegations made, but denies any harrassment actually happened.
Despite being the chief executive officer of the National Restaurant Association, he said he was unaware of any settlement with the accusers, though he didn't deny it.
"If the restaurant association did a settlement, I wasn't even aware of it," he claimed, "and I hope it wasn't for much. If there was a settlement, it was handled by some of the other officers at the restaurant association."

AH! The radio report I heard had him admitting to the harassment.ETA: Story also said that both women received 5-figure financial settlements.
I know 9-9-9 goes elsewhere. But I thought 9-0-9 proved that he's just testing the waters for what will get votes; he has not really thought these things through.
No, he now admits that he was accused; he still denies that he harassed.
1. Politico allegations are false. Story is crap.
2. Yes, there were allegations. But they were false.
3. Yes there were allegations that were false and I don’t know what money was paid.
4. I don’t know whether money was paid. And it would be wrong for me to find out whether money was paid because it’s confidential.
5. There was an in-depth investigation. And I was cleared. But I don’t know anything about it.
6. Here’s the gesture that led to my getting accused of harassment.
7. Okay, I remember some discussion of a settlement number.
Indeed, I've been noticing these hour by hour movements. And if I read Herman correctly, there's now:It is true, at least that his story keeps changing.
Cain said:It started out where she wanted a lot of money. I don't even remember what that amount was. But because it was baseless and it was shown that it was not true, she ended up leaving with several months severance, which would have been what she would have left with if we had involuntarily dismissed her. I don't know if it was three months, whether it was two months, it might have been six months. I don't think it was because of the way it was settled.
