So it would seem that William and Kate are getting married.

It's the only story on the UK news right now.

Even the England football coach was asked his opinion.

Roll on the glorious republic !

For the record, I wish the young couple well but don't think it's important, and I certainly don't think it should be the number 1 story.

But you DO think it is important enough to start a thread on? ;)

I think the important question is do we get a day off work?

I'm shocked to the core by those photos, I had no idea he was losing his hair. Look at it! So thin and receding! He used to be very pretty. Oh, how sad the passing of the years that wither all our hopes and some people's hair.

Indeed. This should not be news.

Well, it isn't news, so much as gossip, but it beats all hell out of our daily recitations over here of what the Lohans threw up at breakfast, or Britney's latest labia-flexing video, that's for sure.

Lindsay Lohan threw up on Britney's labia?!?!?

That's how rumors get started.

Fisty Clamslapper, producer and director of "Labia-Flexin' to the Oldies," would strongly disagree.

Look, you pay these people millions to maintain traditions and provide the public with entertainment news.

Next time they will be doing human things like getting divorced, shagging outside their marriage, dying or going to a party dressed as a Nazi.

It's all worth it and even if you killed them in a violent revolution, the state would still have to pay for the upkeep of the palaces and castles as they are national treasures.

Runs in the family. On a different subject, Prince Harry doesn't seem to be losing his hair.

I think we should have two, so that we can make our way to London in order to sleep on the Mall the night before. Or maybe three so that we can make our way out of casualty the next day in good order after being run over by the horses.

Edit: They only gave us one day for his parent's wedding, and look how that worked out. It's clearly not enough.

Let the inbreeding continue!
How can it be inbreeding? She's not related to him.

Congratulations to them both.

[derail]As an American, I have always thought that a Constitutional Monarchy is the best form of government. It gives a head of state who is above any political/party disputes and allows all citizens to have someone to look to as a symbol of the country (I realize that not all United Kingdom citizens feel the same way). Especially at a time when US politics are so divisive and so many people dislike any President of a party not theirs, a Queen or King for everyone looks very good to me.[/derail]

The problem is: you don't know who will be your head of state. it is decided by pure chance.

Belgium has a scumbag.
Sweden has a sex-maniac (OK, entertainment value).
Holland is about to get a mediocre bore.
France has a guy with no head.
