Undoubtedly, but unfortunately, marketing experts flubbed Amanda Peet's first Every Child by Two campaign by stating that U.S. pre-vaccine, annual measles mortality was 500,000. It was a wee bit embarrassing.

Well yes, obviously they should have medical experts do the fact-checking. I hope someone learned from that mistake.

In this case, though, I think it worked. The facts were sound, the presentation was good, the celebrity was celebrated ... and also presented as "Jenifer Lopez, Mother", a nice touch, I thought.

I really don't see how its impact could have been improved by instead having Professor Someguy, world expert on whooping cough, giving us references to the scientific literature. Let Professor Someguy do his or her job, and let the people whose job it is to sway public opinion do theirs.
