Old man runs motorcyclist off road. Says "I don't care."

A 68 year old Texas man ran a motorcyclist and his girlfriend off the road when the motorcycle tried to pass him. The entire event was caught via a GoPro cam on the helmet of a trailing motorcyclist. When that motorcyclist confronted Crum, he just kept saying "I don't care." He's now facing two counts of aggravated assault. He has a criminal history of family violence and reckless driving.

Eric Sanders, who was driving the motorcycle allegedly struck by Crum, told CBS affiliate KHOU that he suffered road rash and deep cuts. His girlfriend, 38-year-old Debra Simpson, was a passenger on his motorcycle and remains in the intensive care unit at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

The sad part is that when these cases get into a criminal court, even in incidents of vehicular homicide, riders lives don't seem to have much worth:

Julius was a riding buddy. As a human being, he deserved better. I know of many individuals (w/o prior convictions) that have received far longer sentences for non-violent crimes.

The full video on YT shows the rider w/ the gopro did stop and talk to the downed rider before proceeding to the driver of the passenger vehicle.

While at YT, I also happened upon a vid from a rider in Germany that showed a deliberate hit and run on a scooter rider, with pretty much the same reaction from the driver of the passenger vehicle.

Regardless of whatever traffic violations the motorcyclist may have committed, it doesn't justify running him off the road. I hope the old geezer gets more than a slap on the wrist.

Specifically the downed rider asked the rider with the camera to hurry and get the license plate of the attacker's vehicle, since he had stopped at quite a distance and could've driven off at any moment.

That "everyone" is a bit overblown. For one, I don't think the driver of the other vehicle is stupid, he made the right manoeuvre to avoid the crashed bike and bikers.

I have to wonder though why the bikers wore just jeans, and no protective gear at all, apart from legally required (?) helmets.

As to malicious - I would just call it what it is, attempted homicide.

It's not unusual, I had a guy in a bloody Bentley repeatedly try and run me off the road because I had the audacity to beep my horn when cut me up on a roundabout rather than wait in a queue on the correct approach Lane.

I have had cars try to run me off or 'brake test' me.
Treat every car as a potential enemy. be aware of your situation. When you are going to pass, get past and leave plenty of space.
Plus wear protective gear. I have full leathers with kevlar panels, back brace and neck guard but I am riding a sorts bike,

Meh, watch Russian dash cam videos on Youtube. People will door a biker simply because he's doing better in slow traffic than they are. Fender benders will make people pull out axes, guns, shovels, etc., to help them prove they are in the right.
