I took it to be a much grander and ever sillier point: We don't have any evidence that Obama never talked to Lynch at any point about stopping the Clinton email investigation (all negatives placed on purpose). This...well, I think most people can hone in on the problem.

Also, we don't have any evidence that Trump did not collude with Jerry Sandusky and Jared from Subway to create a naked boy wrestling league, so I'm going to go ahead and say it was true. IMPEACH! Can't let the naked boy wrestling league go unpunished!

Why he had a friend do it instead of doing it himself?

BLUNT: So why didn't you give those to somebody yourself rather than give them through a third party?

COMEY:Because I was weary the media was camping at the end of my driveway at that point. I was actually going out of town with my wife to hide. I worried it would be feeding seagulls at the beach. If it was I who gave it to the media. I asked my friend, make sure this gets out.

That was the other interpretation I was considering but it was not only just as stupid, it was also not what you claimed.
