The past 24+ hours here at the Forum have been quite an experience for me, and others, from a psychological point of view. I've experienced feelings of sadness, insecurity, bewilderment, and the weird, out-of-place feelings a child has when there is a divorce in the family. I've observed people writing in an agitated/frantic mode here. As soon as I read Linda's post that stated the Forum would not be closed I immediately experienced relief and felt better emotionally and physically.

Does anyone else have thoughts on the psychological aspects of the last day or two?

you know, i really hate to single anyone out but there is a certain member here who has a very vulgar style and i think that she needs to clean up her act. there is no excuse for swearing. it is inappropriate.

it would be a shame if this forum gets shut down because some people can not control themselves.

i will only mention the person's first initial to save her from embarrassment. it is "s".

drop the swearing "s"!

I know very little about the psychological aspects. I've been on the forum for quite a while, and IMO it seems to mimic a family dynamic (albeit a rather large family).

About every few months, there is a family meltdown of some sort or another.

The kids argue, discuss, pout, agree, disagree, agree to disagree, make up, ignore each other, or decide to pack up and leave home.

Yep......just like a big family I think.

I agree with Dr. Skinny. And much relief can be gained by visiting on Paltalk and playing some good '60s rock 'n' roll.

The Hal Bidlack announcement yesterday and resulting turmoil.

Although I genuinely did not fear "the worst", I'd say the last few days were rather psychologically exhaustive.

I read very many posts and very many threads on this board, I read much more than I post myself *glances over to left, casually observes postcount*. Although there has been much worse events and occurrences on the board in the past, (from the observer point of view) I noticed the folks here seemed a bit more agitated than usual.

But that is life on this board...

The next drama on June 1 wont be so exhausting...

Take a look at the Community Forum and some of the recent announcements.

Currently, we do not believe there is a threat to the future of this forum. However, there is an unscheduled delay in one of Hal's announcements, and that has a few folks on edge.

Folks who break the forum rules will be dealt with accordingly at an individual basis.

One of the policies I am aware of is suspending and banning are far from the top of the list in enforcing forum rules.

I am also aware Pyrrho has set up a word-filter, so swearing is censored out unless deliberate action is taken to bypass the filter. (Filters words, although some are more offended by the intentions rather than the words.)

Her son, "y", think's "s" is very kind.

My psychological reaction right now is to ignore it. I'm not going into the Community forum for at least a few days.
