And I guess you also missed the fact that al-qaeda terrorists met in Baghdad before the invasion to plot a chemical bomb attack in Jordan that was aimed at killing tens of thousands of Jordanians and everyone in the US embassy in Amman. And you miss the fact that the Iraqi government was warned about the leader of that plot well before the invasion and did nothing to apprehend him. In fact, when a member of that terrorist leader's entourage was caught by Iraqi police, the top echelons of the Iraqi government (in fact, the CIA says Saddam himself) ordered that terrorist released over the objection of the arresting police.

Frankly, I don't really think you folks believe there is a war on terror. Maybe that should be the real issue of the Presidential race.

The picture you posted was a propaganda bid to garner support from anyone he could. Saddam didn't give a crap about the U.S., Al qaeda, or anyone else. He was being Saddam and watching out for himself.

Last redoubt of AQIZ? Well, that's good, since now we can move onto the 14 other factions in the area. AQIZ were big, but they are not nearly the scariest in country right now. The country is still over-run by criminals, ex Baath party, and other insurgent cells. Not to mention out of country chuckleheads.

The war in Iraq is far, far from over.

One question: What is the objective of the War on Terror? Every real war has one. Now ask yourself, is it narrow enough to be truly defined as an actual war?

So let me get this straight: the USA won the Vietnam war, is currently winning the Iraq war, there really were WMDs and Al-Qaeda ties with Saddam, and it's the liberal media who distorted those facts all along in some giant conspiracy. Am I getting the gist of it?

If you really want to change the middle east like it says in the PNAC documents, then you need to go to war with Iran and syria and pakistan and afghanistan. Because if you don't, your puppet government in Iraq will experience constant "terrorism" from neighbors, like Iran. It's what I would like to call a quagmire.

Nobody can know the EXACT absolute number. But they have concluded that over a million Iraqis have been killed. A million Iraqis that had nothing to do with 9/11. 3500 civilians in America vs. millions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mission Accomplished?

Now I don't think Al-CIAda EVER had a million members. And I don't remember the Taliban having a millions members either. Oh well. We'll get it right this time when we bomb Iran.

I hate to tell you but the two John Hopkins studies have been thoroughly discredited in numerous JREF threads over the past several years and in the literature. In fact, the John Hopkins studies are so discredited that even the authors now won't defend them:

I know this is a truth you don't want to hear but the John Hopkin studies are complete garbage put out by a group that was definitely biased against the war and willing to tamper with the methodology to get the results they wanted to see. But you will believe what you clearly want to believe so there really is no sense in going over this again. :rolleyes:
