This is a tragedy for Obama, and I detest the crap being said on many places, including what is shown in the above picture. Deplorable. I don't show any favorites in this regard. I'm sick of people on both sides who are so caught up in their ideology, and hatred of the other side, that they stoop to such levels. It's absolutely detestable.

Well, Buddygirl is certainly a disgusting excuse for a human being. Reminds me of someone from another far-right site I peruse, but even worse.

Geez, the posts that are still on there are bad enough -- I wonder what was in the 12 out of the first 20 posts that got removed by the moderator?

Scratch that. I don't wonder. I don't want to know.

From the site linked above:

buddygirl said:
This isn’t an election, it’s a manifestation of a Salvador Dali painting.

Word.

Same "girl" said:

So Barry goes and see’s granny. Granny dies day before election. She is probably one know who really knows where he was born. Well as the church lady used to say.”isn’t that special”

Hm, I thought she meant a Dali painting in another way. I may have been mistaken. Weird people.

I feel for Obama with the loss of his grandmother. I don't want to lose my own.

But, we all die, eventually. Just took bad she couldn't have been around for a few more weeks to see if he won or lost.

OK I was looking at the sick crap they were posting on the freeper site and I just wanna point one thing out. The user whose nick is "buddygirl" on that site didn't post ANY of the posts attricuted to her here.

She posted the original item which was just the notification that Baracks grandmother had passed away. That site has the name of the people posting at the bottom of the posts.

Her name is at the top because they are all responding to her OP. That is why the "To:" is in front of her name. That said there is definately a motherlode of slime over there. I just thought it was harsh that "buddygirl" was wearing it for everyone there.

I've tried to remove my emotional reactions to this election (probably unsuccessfully, I admit) but this news gets to me. I cannot imagine how muted Obama's euphoria must be knowing his granny missed the whole enchilada by just one day. I must admit it causes me some grief. Poor guy, I really feel for him.

Although I am sure he will still be celebrating if he is elected I am sure it will be a bittersweet celebrating, not being able to share that celebration with someone who was by all accounts such an important part of his life will hurt.

I haven't seen any reports on what Madelyn Dunham's condition was. If, like many cancer victims, she had been in a coma for some time before she died, it is unlikely that merely "being alive" would have allowed her to savor her grandson's triumph (assuming there is one). And from my experience with having two parents and a father-in-law die of cancer, I would imagine that Barak had made his goodbyes long ago. The grief starts early, and by the time of the actual death, it is almost an acceptance.

This is not to belittle in any way the pain Obama is feeling right now, but to explain how he can manage to continue on in spite of it. He was ready for it.

Sometimes I wonder if it is better to have a loved one die slowly or quickly. Both of my parents struggled for life and would not have willingly missed any of their last lucid moments. But they were in such pain. Is the satisfaction of "achieving closure" worth that pain? I honestly don't know.

I hope seeing Obama shed a tear for his white grandmother will strike a cord for the conservative old people who are still stuck with their 19th century prejudices, and maybe change their minds about not voting for him because he is black.

They think he won't feel anything for a woman who raised him as if he were her own son because he thinks she's white and his being supposedly totally black prevents that?
Beautiful culture!

BTW
The passing away of a person's close familily member is a personal matter that should not be fair game for political mudslinging.

Huh? How did you get that out of what Pardalis said?

I mostly agree. If a person has chosen to be lead a public life, such as a well-known politician or a "celebrity", then to comment on their qualities, even after their death is not unreasonable. For someone who did noting to invite public notice to be dissected in public after their death is wrong.

But in any case, to accuse an 88-year-old woman suffering from terminal cancer of staging her death for political reasons, as some of the Freepers have done, is beyond the pale. They're breathing the air a human could have.

I have no idea what your post is supposed to mean at all, sorry.

I wasn't advocating using this for political leverage. I'm just saying if old white people see him cry for one of them (an old white lady) this might make them less intolerant towards him.

I didn't get that at all; I think what he was saying, rather, was that it would cause a decrease in the intolerance and bigotry many individuals have for him. I doubt they'd still vote for him, just as I doubt every racist will take pity on Obama.

Sorry if I midsunderstood you. It just seemed odd that anyone should give extra credit to someone for expressing sorrow over a death of a loved one. It seems to imply that they expected differently and are therefor impressed by something considered common human behavior under those circumstances.
