No, not especially. I certainly would not vote for anyone on Ted Kennedy's recommendation, but I wouldn't necessarily hold his endorsement against them either.

Reagan was shot while in office by someone who just happened to be mentally disturbed. And I believe that Clinton was the target of several lunatics. Oswald himself was basically a nutcase. A communist anarchist nutcase, but still a nutjob. I don't see a particular parallel between JFK and OHB on this matter though.

Water mellon is "watermelon" and its a wonderful southern tradition that somehow got associated with black people stereotypes.

Poor people don't have cars, so a political party popular with the poor will send buses to get them. In the modern era, the democratic party has progressed this into sending buses into low income areas and picking up people to go vote who typically have transportation means. They are typically given "voter guides" that tell them who to pull the lever for.

At least thats how it happens in Memphis and thanks to it we have the same mayor for 4 terms even though crime has gone up every year and the quality of life has gone down every year since the guy has been in office.

Oh yeah. Substantively, Barack Obama is almost the anti-JFK. JFK ran as an uber-hawk anti-communist. He claimed there was a "missile gap" that needed to be corrected (there wasn't) He abortively supported an invasion of Cuba (the Bay of Pigs) and faced down the Soviets' attempts to station missiles in Cuba. He escalated US involvement in Vietnam and acquiesed in the military coup d'etat against its President Diem.

JFK was very much an interventionist hawk.

Maybe, but I haven't seen anything in the press about that. I guess the onus would be on you to find some evidence. It would have to be something the pollsters didn't anticipate or account for, wouldn't it?
