Obama, the Warmongering Imperialist

Yeah, that Obama is quite the warmonger! Did you see him, up there, on that podium, with his war-painted face, his barbarian skirt, and his bloodstained spear? I just looove this quote from his inaugural address:

"Death to the infidels!! *Roooooaaaawwrrr!!!*"

So inspirational. It brings a tear to my eye.

... This is what "Bush derangement syndrome" was -- the compulsion, on part of most of the Mainstream Media, to see anything Bush said and did in the worst possible light on the slightest, indeed without any, justification, and even if it completely contradicts basic common sense, let alone decency.

Wouldn't the skeptical thing to do here be to look up some of the newspaper stories from January 2001 to see what the actual coverage of Bush then was?

Your recollection, if I'm reading your OP correctly (and I'm reading in haste so very well may not be) seems to be that the media savaged Bush from day one. My recollection is different.

Why not pick out 10 major US newspapers -- perhaps the NY Times, Washington Post, Washington Times, USA Today, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, and several others of your choice depending on which ones are easily available to you at your favorite library -- and look up their coverage of Bush's first week in office?

You appear to have a standard in mind for evaluating media coverage which you have already applied to the articles about Obama's inauguration. Perhaps you could write this down a bit more formally (and perhaps post it here, so others may make suggestions, the way people do over in Million Dollar Challenge). Once you've got your protocol set, go through and apply it to the articles from those papers relating to the Bush inauguration as well as the articles from those papers relating to the Obama inauguration.

Yes, that would be more work than simply relying on your own memory of how unfairly Bush was treated. But if you have a point worth making, it might be worth the time and trouble to test for yourself whether the point you are making is actually valid.

I predict Obama will invade ZERO countries..and capture or kill Bin Laden.

Not meaning to post too far off-topic, but if are willing to back up your prediction with a $50 bet (donation to JREF), I'd like a peice of that. Just for you, I'll allow that set of predictions to be broken up

1) Obama will invade ZERO countries
2) [Obama will] capture or kill Bin Laden

For 1) I'll bet he will invade more than ZERO countries, for 2) I'll bet he will not capture or kill Bin Laden.

I'll take either bet for $50 and...wait for it...give you 2:1 odds on both (your $25:my $50).

No welching!
