I too disagree with Obama fundamentally on most of his domestic policies, but to say he has zero political acumen is silly I think. It seems to me he is a consumate politician and is brilliant at mobilizing people.

I guess it depends on what we each mean by "acumen". I'll happily agree that he has a clear talent for "politicking", in the sense of "seeing and exploiting political advantage" and "mobilizing people". But as for "politics" in the sense of "identifying sound policies and pursuing them in a measured, pragmatic manner", I have serious doubts. He seems to present a dangerous mix of idealism, naivete, inexperience, and hubris.
