Obama: Lipstick on a Pig

I remember when it was the Democrats were complaining about the use of code words. Now it's the Republicans.

To every thing, turn, turn, turn...

No, he only looks that way because he plagiarizes from bright people.

But he's clean and articulate, though.

One serious criticism. He's an awful parent. When his wife died, leaving him a single parent with two small boys, he didn't resign his seat to take care of them.

Goose, gander, etc.

Biden might be clean but he must be blind not to notice Chuck was in a wheelchair.

He commutted home every night to be with them. They were not disabled or special-needs kids. They turned out okay, from all I can see.

Maybe the question should be if Nancy Pelosi in 1987 hadn't looked like Sarah Palin does today, would she be the Speaker of the House?

The questions should be more along these lines:

- What do the candidates think about issue x, issue y, issue z, etc, etc...

- What do the candidates plan to do about issue x, issue y, issue z, etc, etc...

- Why do the candidates' plans make sense (or not) regarding issue x, issue y, issue z, etc, etc...

...but by all means, let's stand at the fence and encourage the admirable continuation of the mudslinging and slopping of pigs. No one is clean in this pen.

It should be noted, the McCain "ad" was just a web video. Much like the comment itself, its all much ado about nothing.

Fortunately for Palin, the commute from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to Observatory Circle, where the Vice-President's mansion is located, is much shorter. She could see her kids every day without spending four hours on Amtrak (it's about 2 hours from Union Station, IIRC). And with her salary (no doubt a lot more than she makes as governor of Alaska), Todd could be a stay-at-home dad if it came down to it.

Or are you going to continue with that meme that Republicans are so stooopid they barely have the intellect to wipe their own behinds? I hope so. I just love it when you Dimocrats misunderestimate the Repubs.

Here's a picture of the VP's house.

How many of the Democratic candidates or elected presidents in the last 14 years had to have their fathers pull strings to get them into college in the first palce and how many finished damned near flunking out?

Did it end with "I'm John McCain and I approved this message" or anything similar?

(And that is a genuine question. I don't know.)

Obama needs to start playing a little dirty hardball of his own:
http://normdoering.blogspot.com/2008/09/can-mccain-be-redefined-as-crook.html

Considering the lying 30-second TV attack ad used against Obama's record on education, saying that Obama backed legislation to teach sex education to kindergartners with an announcer saying, "Learning about sex before learning to read? Barack Obama. Wrong on education. Wrong for your family," I think Obama ought to fight back with an ad featuring McCain as one of the Keating 5.

For years, I have heard right-wing blathermeisters on the radio calling liberals and Democrats NAMBLA-supporters.

Obama signs onto a measure to teach little kids how to avoid and bust child molestors and the right is in a snit. Hypocrites!

Prediction: Even now, staffers at Comedy Central are combing archives for examples of politicians using the phrase "lipstick on a pig", and we will see a montage of such footage tonight on the Daily Show.

If I am right, I will demand my one million dollars from Randi.

If I'm wrong, I will say that all the negative energy of the campaign distorted the psychic vibrations, throwing off my prediction.

Not by a long shot.

McCain really said he'd stay in Iraq if it took a hundred years and it was not taken out of context.

And tonight, Sean Hannity will say with a straight face that Obama called Palin a pig and its not out of context. This is your counterpart.

Her words from her speech had a very powerful appeal that many do not understand, and they would have had just as much of an appeal to those listening on the radio.
I'm not so sure of that. Have you tried listening to the speech without the visuals? It's MUCH weaker.
