Obama cant use the presidential seal...he isnt the president yet.

Even as a campaign logo, it is pretty disrespectful to bastardize the presidential seal like that.

Well, there's your nomination for the pith award sewn up, isn't it?

It -is- disrespectful to any country to bastardize its symbols (seal, coat of arms, flag, etc.) into a personal symbol. How would you feel if the Republicans spray-painted McCain's name on the US flag to use as their campaign symbol?

I'm not being anti-Obama here, I'm just pro-heraldry.

Eh fairly common for English fans to turn up with the name of their clubs on england falgs at international matches.

Not wearing a flag lapel pin.

In and of themselves these actions mean little.

I must admit that I don't think that logo is a good idea. Sure it may be done elsewhere and in many other subtle and not-so-subtle ways but that does not make it a smart move in my book.

But I don't think any idiotic, redneck wingnut will find any sinister motives in it. Oh, wait........

BTW, he is not Black, he is American. Racists do tend to define people by their skin color.
