I wish you guys wouldn't call the TEA protestors "tea-baggers." It's a little juvenile. Most of them are just protesting spending and such.
You would have had a valid point if they hadn't called themselves tea-baggers. Any group that is that clueless deserves whatever mocking they get.

The latest on Orly’s site is a letter from former Marine Rick Biesada who accuses Judge Carter of having been “Influenced.” Why does Biesada think that it is possible that Judge Carter was “Influenced?” Well apparently Biesada once bribed a judge, a former marine into letting him off of an aggravated battery charge.
OMG...what about the consitution!!! Bribery is un-constitutional..deport..deport!!! I thought these people were the moral agents of righteousness and the constitution was their bible. I guess not. :D

OK, you gotta give me a link for that, because that would be funny. I thought it all started with the MSNBC guys seeing if they could sneak that word into the broadcasts without anyone noticing.

I don't mind that the tea baggers protest spending and what not. But they do tend to be very fanatical and off their rockers. If it was simple, honest protest I would have more respect for the tea bagger movement (*snickers*). But all the rhetoric (Obama is a terrorist, muslim, socialist, communist!!!) that pops up makes their movement look very...umm. Shall I say, unhinged.

I have a co-worker who is sympathetic to the cause (she asked me for one of my tea-bags, so she could display it on her desk as protest of Obama).

She also complained about all the public support of Obama in the office (correct as the office bans overt political speech in the office and people were wearing Obama T-shirts) and was upset that if she were to wear her 'Impeach Obama' T-shirt she would run afoul of the policy that was otherwise being ignored.

While she had a point regarding fairness, this point was made in February or March. Obama had not been in office more than two months and she already had a t-shirt demanding his impeachment. I would not be surprised if the outfit that she bought it from had them printed up before the innaugaration. When I tried to get her to explain what Obama had done to deserved impeachment, I was not able to get a coherent answer.

"Presidentin' while black"

I suspect that's the case, but obviously she would not admit to that.

I am sure it is only a coincidence that every person she pointed out as wearing pro-Obama paraphenalia to work shared that trait with the president.

Really? Hmmm, I must admit that I'd never even thought about the demographics of the birther crowd beyond their political affiliations. Very interesting.

If the Truthers are mainly full of "Angry Young Men", then the Birthers are "Angry Middle Aged Men" who see the demographics of the country are changing and can't handle it.

Agreed. I actually agree with them on the deficit..a problem which both parties seem to hope will go away....but the insane baggage the Tea Baggers bring along with them is enough to overwhelm whatever valid points they have.

True, just this friday outside our office, a bunch of tea baggers held a protest and held up signs..

That said Tea Baggers.

Im not kidding.

The problem with the alleged worry about the deficiet (at least for the teabaggers) is that it is a passion of relatively recent vintage. Their concern raised nary a yawn during the Bush years when the deficiet went completely out of control and tax cuts were the only economic policy this country persued. Than, once Obama was elected...suddenly the deficiet is a problem?

I'm not saying it isn't, just the seeming hypocracy of the movement suggests to me it is more about partisanism than actual concern...

And, no, I take you at your word as being understandably concerned about the deficiet.

Yea there tends to be a lot of empty rhetoric when it comes to the tea bagger types. Instead of actual complaints and criticism it's "Obama is trampling the constitution, Obama is a socialist". It's that type of the thinking that causes the "tea baggers" (and the Republicans for that matter) to further marginalize themselves.

Except that "protesting spending" is itself juvenile and deserving of ridicule. Protesting certain types of spending would be one thing but it seems to me that these people are pretty much just lusting after some absurd Libertopia in which they envision themselves as "Kings of Earth."

Yes, yes they do.

I thought it was a joke until I saw the other designs this person produced, mostly due to the staggering irony of the phrase "Proud Lady Teabagger".

ETA: I wonder if this would qualify for a Stundie.

Yet another example of the pinkwashing that goes on in this country
Thank you. I have come to hate those ribbons, because it screams to me about awarness without taking the money raised for awarness and putting it towards research.
