Obama - basically Hitler.

I was speaking about Right Wing Radio, and there the ratings have been slipping for some time.
And the Radio Talk shows that seem to be popular are the less poltical "Shock Jocks" .

I kinda figured that's what you meant. Just wondering where you got that from.

This just has to be the most ridiculous thing yet in the whole campaign. I mean, really, really, Godwinning an electoral campaign using the most ludicrous of emotive garbage yet?

Stein then declared, "It's a scary situation. ... But 75,000 people screaming in an outdoor arena, that's just too much. It's just -- it's scarily authoritarian."

I guess that twisted-panties person has never been to a large sport event. Sheesh. Stein needs to get out into the real world and get a life, and get a clue.

Man, Ben Stein is going for the 2008 Crazy Crown.

Explelled movie.
"Science leads to killing people."
Obama=hitler.

In all seriousness, are we sure we aren't watching someone with early signs of dementia?

In all seriousness, are we sure we aren't watching someone with early signs of dementia?

To treat this question seriously for a minute:

From my non-expert POV Stein is not exhibiting signs of dementia. He has allowed deeply held biases to control his reason on some topics, but that is not remotely a symptom of dementia. He is still articulate. He still can make the case for his POV reasonably well.

I originally thought this question applied to McCain. I think there are much stronger signs of at least reduced mental functions that are probably age related in McCain than in Stein. And it seems within the realm of possibility that some of those signs might be very early signs of mental problems down the line. McCain's verbal gaffes are not that far out of the norm, but some of them like the notion that Iran might be harboring Al-Qaida seem to be so bizarrely off that I have wondered if McCain isn't dealing with some mental acuity reductions. Probably though, the idea that any of this is early signs of dementia in McCain stretches the evidence too far.

Interesting that you say that. Watching Keith Olberman pointing out McCain's gaffe on ABC yesterday I thought the same thing. Still, I'm pro Obama so it could be confirmation bias.

I wish McCain had won the election in 2000 instead of Bush. I'm not sure how much better things would have been but they wouldn't have been worse. Ok, I've go to take my own advice and move on.

thanks for the comment. I am being serious in my conjecture. His level of hyperbole in what he says recently is more like what you'd hear from a truther than from a presidential speech writer.

PErhaps he has simply become self-delusioal. I don't know.

I was a fan of Stein. I've been really disapointed by his behavior of late. Expelled and his interviews regarding the movie are, IMO, dishonest. It's too bad.

Stein has clearly jumped the couch this year.

I don't know if this has been quietly building over time or if this is a sudden cry for attention, but: Mission Accomplished, Ben!

Look, I understand that you recognize that Stein and Beck's comments are inexcusable. And I know that you feel the need to respond somehow in defense of your conservative media heroes.

Hate to burst your little bubble there cubby, but I'm not even sure who Beck and Stein are, but if you think they are my heroes and I'm defending them, knock yourself out.

I always enjoy it when people read a few words and ASSume they know you though.

Are you agreeing with the opinion expressed in the OP link? Do you find Obama's proposed speech in front of a large crowd to be Hitler-esque?

The best explanation I have heard for the venue change is that the extra Obamaphiles let into the stadium (carefully vetted I bet) will drown out any negative reaction from the Clintonites.
I find this a weak explanation. The Clintoites are much more likely to make their push and a scene at the smaller convention hall before the nomination is over. There, they have a chance to be heard, especially if timed to coincide when HRC has the stage.

After that and the the VP excitment, it's basically show (well, ok, it's all show but work with me here) and the dyed-in-the-wool Hillary people will be slinking away, never to be seen again.

ETA: Obviously, I'm discounting Hillary as VP. If that happens, I'm going to turn to BeAChooser for my political advice.

Unless his avatar is in the same satirical spirit as the New Yorker cover, the answer is self-evident.

So your inability to stay on-topic is the result of what, exactly?

Don't try to be condescending. You're not very good at it.

At least Obama did not call himself a Jelly Donut.

And neither did Jack Kennedy. "Ich bin ein Berliner" no more means "I am a jelly donut than "I am a New Yorker" means "I am a snooty weekly magazine" or "I am a Chrysler automobile." Listen to a recording of the speech; when JFK said "Ich bin ein Berliner," the crowd went wild -- and it wasn't laughter. Some more background here.

He lost me for good when he started shoveling the "War on Christmas" cattle manure several years ago.
