AKA the really, really paranoid ones, who think every 9/11 dunce who doesn't think like they do is a disinfo operative, and who could only reply to the facts I presented by claiming that I was employing psychological trickery. It's hard to say which faction of truthers is the saddest. They're all so pathetic.
Yeah, given a choice between admitting that their movement includes quite a few paranoid nutbars or government agents, they decided to prove that the movement doesn't have anybody who isn't a paranoid nutbar.
When I revealed that Eric D. Williams, who was running the Chandler, AZ conference, was a Holocaust Denier, the initial reaction was to deny it. Faced with incontrovertible evidence, what did those responsible Troofers conclude?
That there was some sort of arrangement between Williams and me. Supposedly Williams only revealed his Holocaust Denial a few weeks before the conference. Not true, Williams' book had a November 2006 copyright date and the confab was in February. And it was very suspicious that I had uncovered it; again not true. Williams' name was all over the Chandler conference webpage, and because I'd never heard of him unlike most of the other speakers, I decided to do a little investi-googling.
In fact, I initially wanted to hold off on reporting the story, hoping to make a big splash a day or two before the conference, but Steve was worried that one of the other papers would scoop him. His decision was the right one; putting the news out there three weeks before the conference ended up causing more havoc.
Of course, we see the endless parade of Troofer leaders who prove to be nutty a few moments after achieving prominence in the movement (Judy Wood, Uncle Fetzer, Morgan Reynolds, etc.) as evidence that they were nutty all along. They see it as careful plotting.
