NSA and UFOs : Anyone want to compare notes?

At the moment, I just want to check if anyone here had looked into any of the individuals I listed in my OP (beyond material already online or in books). I'm happy to compare notes with anyone that has done so.
If you leave out information from books and the internet, that would seem to leave people that have personal information about classified documents and/or events. Do you intend for posters to talk about these classified documents and/or events on this message board?

Er, there is a LOT of information which isn't classified that doesn't appear in books or online.

Quite apart from information in newspapers/journals/magazines/newsletters (skeptical or otherwise), there is the matter of Freedom Of Information Act requests and responses (not all of which are online or in books...) not to mention personal interaction and correspondence with relevant individuals plus public statements (official or otherwise) and court documents and, well, lots and lots and lots of other non-classified sources.

It takes a bit of effort to find such material, which is why I wanted to compare my notes and material I've collated on the subject-matter of this thread with anyone else that has bothered to do the same.

Several people not on this forum - skeptics and others - have responded to my invitation to compare notes by exchanging non-classified material with me.

If the premise of your question were correct, how do you think that new books are written which don't simply regurgitate the contents of existing books??

Is the OP associated with Citizens Against UFO Secrecy?

No, the OP is not associated with Citizens Against UFO Secrecy (a group that has essentially been defunct for quite a few years).

I've had some contact with some of the people that were behind the Citizens Against UFO Secrecy group, but I've probably had more contact with researchers behind CSICOP/CSI and other skeptical groups - such as when I wrote the following items:

(1) "Phil Klass: "Skeptics UFO Newsletter" now online (large collection)"

(2) "Debunked! The FBI alien bodies memo – A case study in the reinvention of the wheel"

(3) "Dogon Alien “Mystery” Demystified"

Feel free to ask any of the prominent UFO skeptics about my work, e.g. Ian Ridpath, Jim Oberg, Tim Printy, Robert Sheaffer, Dave Clarke, Peter Brookesmith - or just read some of it yourself.

I read your Dogon "Mystery" article and must say it is the most thorough debunking of the it I have ever read. :dio:
Very nice. Thank you.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'd like to be as thorough in my coverage of the NSA's documents in relation to UFOs and related individuals (including individuals that worked for the NSA and became involved in ufology, and individuals involved in NSA that merely claimed to have worked for the NSA) - hence my attempt to find out if anyone wanted to compare notes on those individuals.

Thanks - I know Ian and have had quite a few exchanges with him, mainly regarding the Rendlesham incident(s). :)

However, I'm not familiar with any work he has done specifically relating to the NSA. I'll double-check with him the next time we speak/email.

I've now checked with Ian and he has confirmed that he hasn't looked at NSA documentation on UFOs.

By the way, straying a little from the topic of this thread, I'll just mention that Ian will be giving a talk in London on 10th September 2014 regarding the Rendlesham Forest incident:

What agency would UFOs fit under? NASA, for being from space? CIA, for being foreign?

It is a fairly common misconception that the CIA files only contain material relating to foreign events or individuals. That is incorrect.

I don't know whether you'd consider the fairly well-known magician in the photos below from files released by the CIA to be a foreign individual (since, although he was born in Canada, he has been a naturalized citizen of the United States for quite a few years). :)

Or documents formerly classified "Secret" in relation to James Randi's work released by the CIA, such as the one below:

Misconceptions about CIA files, and those of other agencies, are fairly common - which is one of the reasons for my desire to write about the NSA's files on UFOs and seeking any input on this forum from anyone that has looked into the issues I outlined in my OP.

How is UFO being defined?

As an Unidentified Flying Object. Period. Full stop.

or, as an Unidentified Flying Object piloted by someone/something not from this planet.

Huge difference for me.

Weren't these "the same guys" who thought starring at goats was money well spent??

Technically that was a different branch. Like the US Navy's telepathy experiments.
