Nothing better to do...?

:D:D:D

I swear - this site is killling me. From the review of Muppets From Space

The instances of sexual nature that may need your maturity for the child to properly develop included Miss Piggy gamming (sitting cross-legged intentionally in a very short skirt showing as much upper leg as possible), Miss Piggy hitting the privates of a male character, and presentation of a video tape titled "Platinum Buns."

You just have to love the way that in amongst all those graphic scenes of sexual intercourse, violent shootings and the "most foul of foul" language they still complain about adults being shown in their under wear and "suggestive eye movements".

:D

LOL, that's a great site CWL! :D Especially that Muppet review.

These people are severily disturbed. Their kids will end up unprepared for the world and will end up just as detached to the Earth as their parents were. Such people shouldn't be allowed to procreate.

I like the way that the initials of the items of the rating system they use spell "WISDOM":

Wanton Violence/Crime
Impudence/Hate
Sex/Homosexuality
Drugs/Alcohol
Offense to God
Murder/Suicide

Yup. That's wisdom for you all right. :D

I was reading their review of 'Ghost Dog' and under 'Sexuality' they criticised it for the following reasons (amongst others):

suggestive eye movements
adults in underwear

SUGGESTIVE EYE MOVEMENTS!

from the Titanic review

ADDENDUM May 16, 1998: By further observation of the impact of Titanic and its slap in the face of wholesome ethics, I have come to believe there has not been a more subliminal, far-reaching theft of innocence of such scale and dimension in the history of childhood than Titanic! And by personally researching all the written accountings of the survivors (the passengers, officers and crew), it wasn't even real! It was guesswork with a few points of accuracy to give it an air of credibility!

and here's me thinking it just wasn't a very good film

Is the fact that the South Park movie is number 666 on the list just a happy co-incidence ?

In one of his reviews he stated that he only lets his kids watch pg movies after he had watched them and then only with a "Cuss filter" on.
Hmmm.... What would Jesus do? ( to determine the gender of a dog )....
Jesus would hate my basset hound with his gigantic penis stretching a good 8 inches down his stomach. And he looks like a miniature zebra when he gets excited.

The whole "symbols" page pisses me off. You would think they could at least take the time to get the "history" of the various symbols correct. I especially like how the ankh (which was being used as early as the Old Kingdom) was actually a "development" from a Greek letter which wasn't invented until later. By the way, the ankh does not represent a set of screwing genitals, but rather a sandal with straps. It wasn't used to represent lust or fertility (this site seems to think everything represents lust or fertility. Hangup, maybe?).

And I really tire of the bad rap us Masons get from these jerks. Like the Baphomet thing. It's not a Masonic symbol; the Baphomet was invented by Eliphas Levi (a Christian monk) a long time ago to explain some damn thing, and was used centuries later in a joke played on a guy named Pike by some non-Masons, and he mentioned it in a book...which was enough, I suppose.

I cannot find the hexagram being used in ancient Egypt. They used five-pointed stars (not pentacles, but "stick figure" style). And the eye-in-pyramid design on the back of the dollar bill was meant to represent the eye of God.

Envision the Cross of Jesus: a vertically oriented lower case "t" without the serif (curve) at the bottom -- an upright beam (the stipes) with a cross-arm (or patibulum). Now invert the Cross then break the patibulum down on both sides. Now, the Cross is head down, the patibulum broken with both halves pointing downward, all away from God and toward Hell. Now you have the heart of the peace symbol, or a close variation of the Greek letter, lambda.

Give me a serious break. I've got to stop before I need blood pressure medication.

WHat is "the most foul of the foul words",
Coincidentally, I was watching the DVD of "Bruce Almighty" with the director's commentary on, and he talks about this particular one usage of TMFOTFW.

He really wanted the movie to be a "family" movie, but he also wanted Bruce to do something that would absolutely justify him getting fired, so Bruce ends his first (and only) live on-site report with, "Back to you, ****ERS!"

The next thing you see is Bruce literally being tossed out of his workplace on his butt, with his box of personal possessions tossed out after him.

The moral: Use TMFOTFW, and bad things will happen to you. But of course that's not the message the fundies will think is being sent.

and how can I best work it into conversation?
Oh, that's easy. Just ask anyone who lives in New Jersey.

I always thought the peace symbol was a pictograph of a chicken foot..
Actually, it's a combination of pictographs of the two semaphore letters "N" and "D", standing for "Nuclear Disarmament". It also is supposed to symbolize the gesture most people make for despair - their outstretched arms, palms upward, in a sort of "I give up" motion.

Ooo, I just love that euphemism ("TMFOTFW" that is) and now I have an irresistible urge to abuse it...

... and if you believe that I am in the wrong for doing so, I frankly don't give a TMFOTFW! :D

Curious, because I always thought that TMFOTFW started with a C.

That's certainly the one that's considered more offensive over here...

The movie reviewer is right. Watching all these movies will turn even the most God-fearing man into a smoking, swearing, raping, murdering sinner. We should all feel greatful that this person is willing so sacrifice his soul and become a smoking, swearing, raping, murdering sinner so that many, many others will be spared that fate.

Yea, yea, with a C or with an F, what the TMFOTFW's the difference?

They are all unholy. Booga booga!

Fascinating. Apparently some people believe that the biggest problem in the world today is the number of times the "f-word" is used in South Park or the fact that "demons" are depicted in Lord of the Rings: http://www.capalert.com/capreports/index.htm

Who has/takes the time to count four letter words and other alleged "blasphemies" in films anyway? Surely there must be more productive things to do for a person concerned with the state of the society?

Idiots. That's it in a nutshell.
