There is a flaw in this calculation. In Scandinavia (and probably other places, too) children get their presents on Christmas Eve (eh, today), thus giving Santa more time to get the job done.

Obviously, spreading xmas out over two days was done as a favour to Santa.

Don't forget that Santa figures into various Pagan and Druidic beliefs these days, so Santa's been flying about since Solstice began. I figure he's out and about from early on the 20th to sometime close to New Year's.

Still, he gets a HELL of a salary, considering he lives for a year off the profit of one month's work. And you thought pizza delivery boys get paid well? HAH!
