One of the corner stones of 911 conspiracy theories is the lack of interception by NORAD of the offending aircraft.

Rather than seeing this organiastion as a group of super trained miltary personal, maybe the answer is both a lot simpiler and darker.:mad:

NORAD does not have a clue how to actually conduct an intercept.

By there own admission they have failed to intercept a particular violation of US and Canadian airspace for nearly 50 years :covereyes

Typical false CTer nonsense. Simple maths will immediately demonstrate it is not possible for NORAD to perform a successful intercept.

First, let's look at the facts.

There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the Population Reference Bureau).

At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per house hold, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming that there is at least one good child in each.

Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 967.7 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop out, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left for him, get back up the chimney, jump into the sleigh and get on to the next house.

Assuming that each of these 108 million stops is evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false, but will accept for the purposes of our calculations), we are now talking about 0.78 miles per household; a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting bathroom stops or breaks. This means Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second --- 3,000 times the speed of sound.

Now let's see what NORAD has to play with.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon has a top speed of 1,320 MPH and the F-15 Eagle has a top speed of 1,650 MPH. The AIM-7 Sparrow and AIM-120 AMRAAM box have a maximum speed of Mach 4 whilst the AIM-9 Sidewinder can only manage a meagre Mach 2.5.

In addition NORAD have the aid of the E-3 Sentry whose radar has a range of about 400 Miles for medium to high altitude targets.

Travelling at 2,340,000 MPH, Santa's sleigh would enter and then leave radar range in approximately 1.2 seconds. This is insufficient time for a NORAD aircraft to accquire a lock and then launch.

That is not to say NORAD do not try, however. You do a great discredit to the brave men and women of the US Armed Forces with your unsupported claims.

As can CLEARLY be seen in this image, Santa's Sleigh is equipped with Counter-Measures. In this photographic evidence Santa is deploying a barrage of flares.

Why would Santa deploy flares, if not trying to counter NORAD missiles?

Yes, stop spreading your false lies. This photograph is clearly an ACTUAL intercept attempt by NORAD.

Well hate to sound sad and pathetic, but I am all alone for Christmas.

My family are all either in another city or another country, and all my flatmates are away with their families. We don't even have a tree up.

I haven't spent Christmas with my parents for a number of years, so it's all a big MEH to me.

There is a flaw in this calculation. In Scandinavia (and probably other places, too) children get their presents on Christmas Eve (eh, today), thus giving Santa more time to get the job done.

Obviously, spreading xmas out over two days was done as a favour to Santa.
