Which must be why the mods merged it :o

I really think part of why kids find algebra confusing is that society keeps telling them it's confusing. I mean, *phonics* is confusing, shouldn't it be pronounced p-honics?

ETA: I notice you are in the Netherlands; does it have the same issue?

No, the Netherlands has no issue with "phonics". They spell it with an "f". pfonics.
