Nine year old soils herself, gets buried alive

Do most log splitters have a " slow and deliberate " setting ?
I though it was pretty much, just " go " ...
.
The wood chipper in "Fargo" would be an interesting device for disposal of useless carbon scraps.
A tad messy though.
A good 33 gallon garbage sack at the efflux would be nice.

One of my lady friends was the 15th. All older than her.
11 brothers.
And an abusive father.
Screwed her over (literally).
One of her sisters said the same thing about the abuse.
Ya just never know how some folks will respond to the stresses of parenthood, or, in too many cases, spawning.

(I just thought of the 'Schoolhouse Rock' song about the number 3: "A man and a woman had a little baby, yes they did. There was 3-eee-eee in the family, that's a magic number." :) )

My first wife and I had three kids. we all used to sing a song from Sesame Street:

Oh there are FIVE
People in our family
And there's not
one of 'em I'd swap
There is a sister and two brothers
and a mother and a Pop - that's me!

FIVE is such a pretty number
I'm awfully glad that IIIIIIIII've
FIVE people in my family
one, two, three four FIIIIIIIIIIIVE
One - Two - Three - Four
One Two Three Four FIVE!

We had to change the lyrics a bit, since we had two sisters and one brother, but we sang that thing a gazillion times in the car!

And I always got to say "That's me!"

After our third was born we got a license plate which read "NOWWER5" (Now we are five) they are now 25, 27 and 28 years old!

No. Police don't charge someone with "alleged assault", they charge them with assault. Saying someone has been charged with assault is an easily provable fact, so there's no reason to stick an "alleged" in there if it's true that the person has been charged with assault.

The quote didn't say the person was charged with alleged assault, but "over the alleged assault". Minor difference, but a difference nevertheless.

This sounds horribly like what happened to Victoria Climbie. She was so stressed living with her aunt and her horrible boyfriend, that she started wetting the bed. I think her body was found wrapped in plastic in the bath, which is where they'd been making her sleep. And not feeding her and burning her with cigarette ends I think unless I'm getting mixed up. But the bed-wetting seemed to be a significant part of what triggered the abuse. She was only about eight, poor lamb.

Rolfe.

Lots of children who have been sexually abused experience bed-wetting issues.
i experienced it as a child.

It's a combination of things for me, from "I really dislike kids" to "I have more mental health issues than you can shake a stick at and I don't feel I am a responsible choice to be a parent" and a few other things as well. No amount of reasons seem to make me normal though -- I continue to be "weird" to a lot of people since I don't wanna pop 'em out.

I love you, lets not have some kids together!

Strangley enough, as much as I feel your sentiment, my wife came with a daughter and I really do like having her. Gives me an excuse to go to the skatepark and ride.

If you ask me, this is a case where Iran would be correct in stoning someone to death.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. There are times when the usual legal route is just not enough in my opinion.

Rest your head easy. Prison is absolutely lousy with parents, and child abuse is not exactly treated lightly there. There would probably be some interesting justice meted out there.

Until after the trial, the media has to use phrases such as "alleged" and "may have".

Do they have to or is it just a pre-emptive defense against a liability lawsuit? And could they be sued before? Or just after the trial which was, say, an acquittal?

And quite appropriate for taking out the trash.

Why is there a forum rule against advocating suicide, but none for describing gratuitous fantasies about dismembering the bodies of child abusers?

I'm not complaining. Just curious.

Because these people aren't members here and aren't expected to read our comments.

There is probably a similar rule against advocating the dismembering of the bodies of child abusers, and probably no rule against gratuitous fantasies about (one's own) suicide. So I think it all balances...

The same thing happened recently to a 4 year old girl in my area. Absolutely sickening, perhaps made more so by the fact that the article includes a picture of the little girl. The father was in jail. The mother was in the military and she left the child with someone she obviously shouldn't have left her with.

Alleged perp blames it on being bipolar! And it will be interesting to hear from him how the cord he admits using gave her bite marks and left evidence of sexual assault on her body.

Yes this crime serves as more evidence that if you really knew all the stuff going on out there in the world you'd never sleep at night.

As awful and shocking as this story is- no, you are wrong.

These crimes are terrible but rare. Very, very rare.

Here's what is usually going on out there in the world that we don't know about: really boring, ordinary, normal stuff.

If you could see what your neighbors were really doing at night, you'd see a ton of people sleeping and watching TV.

I remember an old comic strip where the guy was afraid to turn on the TV for fear of learning what latest disaster had occurred while he was asleep. Nuclear war? Massive earthquakes? Military coups?

When he finally turned it on, he was greeted by an interview with Kermit the Frog, who was quashing rumors about an affair with Miss Piggy.

Yeah...there are lots of bipolar people who don't torture and murder children.
