Regardless of any racial element (something I despise, by the way), tighter controls are needed purely from a logistical point of view. Where are all these migrants going to stay? Do the local councils and authorities have enough resources to deal with them? Questions like those, entirely reasonable ones in my view, have been ignored for many years under Labour, leaving an opening for the odious BNP.
