NHS England votes to defund homepathy, finally.

'The decision to end primary care prescriptions for homeopathy means that homeopathy funding is now restricted purely to some NHS Trusts clinics in Scotland, London, and South West England.'

Hopefully the rest will follow soon.

I'm torn on this. (Anecdote time....)

My father in law isn't the only person in Britain who claims to know his body better than the ***** doctors who are out to get him and who are in the pay of the ***** drug companies, and so on. At the moment he is going through his practice's complaint procedure because the antibiotics for his recurring bladder infections have given him achy legs, which are only relieved by eating lots of cucumber. Yep.........that's right. A whole load of nuttery. Well, if his doctor could have handed him a supply of sugar pills and told him that the red ones were to treat achy legs, and the blue ones to deal with the feelings of lethargy he has experienced since his stroke, then he (FIL) would be a happy chap. So too the doctor.

Doctors with patients who are addicted to being a patient, but who don't have anything treatable, no longer have an easy way of placating them without actually doing anything.

Other than that, it's great news.

He's on disprin (well, asprin) and claims this is what is causing his bladder infections! Oh yes, this is what the poor doctors have to put up with.

A male who doesn't use catheters or have something else wrong should not be having recurrent bladder infections. Maybe he needs a second opinion.

Cost concerns are actually having a beneficial effect on removing unnecessary "remedies" across the board from NHS England.

A major centre of homeopathy will no longer be able to spend NHS money on the controversial practice.

The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine - formerly the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital - will stop providing NHS-funded homeopathic remedies in April.
